Best egg substitute for baking?!

Question: Best egg substitute for baking?
There are a few options I'm interested in:

I am going to try the ground up flax seed one.

How is applesauce for an egg substitute

Also, I saw you can also do 2 Tbsp. water + 1 Tbsp. oil + 2 tsp. baking powder.

Has anyone used these methods? How did it turn out? Or what do you recommend?

Answers:

For grounded flax seeds

- for use in pancakes ( the best substitute for eggs i've ever used and i suggest you use rice milk as a ingredient instead of soy milk )

Use 1 tbsp + 3 tbsp warm water and whisk everything together.
Substitution for 1 egg.

Applesauce

- For muffins, moist breads
- Fruit smoothie
- Morning Waffles ( the best )

Applesauce are perfect for the 3 types of food as mentioned above. I use it frequently as an ingredient in my cooking for breakfast.

Egg replacers
- Royal Icing for cookies
- Scones
- certain type of cookies

I'm not a fan of egg replacers because i tried some baking recipes with it but it did not turns out very good or bad, i just did not notice any difference in the taste or look at all. But of course i think it could be the brand of the product i'm using. In my country they don't sell Ener-G Replacer, i use Orgran Egg replacer from Australia.

White Vinegar ( one of my favorite )
- cakes
- muffins

You can add 1/2 to 1 tbsp of vinegar into a cup of soy-milk to make buttermilk.

Hope that helps!

I've made brownies with Tofu as an egg substitute.
You mix the tofu in a blender (a quarter of tofu will do depending on what your cooking)
you can't taste the difference and you could swear it was egg, even my mum who is not a vegan couldn't taste the difference.

I made some brownies with applesauce, they were so fluffy and moist, it was pretty cool. I'd definitely do it again. I've never tried flax. I've done commercial egg replacer.

The method I PREFER is to find a recipe that doesn't need a substitute. But since that's not your question, I'd recommend applesauce.
