Because they are wasting their money on publicity stunts and marketing such as celebrity endorsements, when they could be using the money for useful things instead.

"petakillsanimals" is hardly a reputable source. It is one of many websites of the ultra right wing Center for Consumer Freedom- founded by execs from Phillip Morris. They are funded by the alcohol and tobacco industry, and producers of meat and dairy. They certainly don't give a crap about dead animals. They just want to discredit PETA, and they spend a ton of money doing it. They also frequently file suits against Mothers Against Drunk Drivers, Greenpeace, and the Humane Society.
What a bunch of swell guys.

Are you aware that the website peta kills animals is put out by the CCF. The CCF is a front group for big tobacco, restaurants, meat industry, and alcohol. The Center for Consumer Freedom is a nonprofit corporation run by lobbyist Richard Berman. Berman is known as a spin doctor. He misinforms, alters the truth and down right lies to get his message across.

While the fact that PETA did euthanize animals is true, the website you are offering is exaggerated. PETA often takes in animals that are extremely sick or injured, and at a point where euthanasia is the only option. They also take animals from places where they would have been euthanized by gas or other methods, and instead offer then a quicker and less traumatic death.

It is a sad fact that millions of animals are euthanized by shelters every year. Irresponsible owners, backyard breeders, etc are more at fault than the shelters that are forced to deal with the pet overpopulation issue with euthanasia. If so many pets are euthanised a year, why is CCF only after PETA? That is easy, b/c PETA's actions, information, etc influence people about animal issues. If the CCF can discredit people, by duping uninformed people with how PETA euthanases animals, they are protected their financial backers(meat industry, restaurants, etc).

This is the same man that went against the group, mothers against drunk driving(MADD) and wanted to lower the legal blood alcohol level. He goes against groups that are will impact the profits of his financial backers. The group denies the obesity problem in the U.S. and is against Unions and a minimum wage for workers.

In Bermans own words his strategy is to shoot the messenger ... "we’ve got to attack their credibility as spokespersons."

Be careful what you read, not everything on the internet can be trusted to come from a credible source that does not have some sort of agenda behind it.

Honestly, I don't understand why they still have followers believing that they're truly rescuing animals.

It wasn't that long ago that one of the big heads, forget the name but I think it was a guy, admitted that Peta isn't a shelter and they do not run any shelters.

One of my bigger pet peeves is all the videos. The ones where they show you these factories, people abusing livestock, slow painful deaths, etc.

If they have all of these videos, and they most definitely have the money to do it, then why don't they ever sue these factories for animal abuse? They'll protest to have a baby polar bear euthanized rather than raised by human hand, and pay for celebrities who don't have a clue what they're funding to act like porn stars on an ad with vegetables, but they will never sue despite all of the 'evidence' they have?

because they are terrorists and hypocritical, they want everyone to become a vegan but they are the first to kill and torture animals, also the video footage that they show and claim how animals get killed in farms are the same Peta members so they can convince people to become vegan, they also brainwash little kids into drinking soda instead of healthy milk, Peta should be stopped

Ok, for one, I don't trust every site on the internet, however, PETA themselves admit that they euthanize animals that would otherwise be euthanized, or so they claim.
(On this site, they talk about the court case where PETA workers picked up animals, euthanized them and threw them in a dumpster. The shelter workers stated that the animals were picked up with the understanding PETA would find them homes. )

Second, I am not opposed to euthansia of shelter dogs that face little or no chance of being purchased. A life in a cage is not a life. It is a necessary evil. The overpopulation of dogs isn't going to end anytime soon thanks to irresponsible owners who treat dogs as disposible, and who allow their dogs to reproduce. It is not feasible to keep them all.

But I would like to throw out there the reminder that PETA's objective is to end domestication of animals. Their ideal goal would be to have no dogs or cats, or anything else, as pets.
They push mandatory spay/neuter programs (which I don't support), are against even responsible breeding (which I do support, responsible breeding that is) and they also have services like this, euthanizing animals. Hmm.

"“There is no hidden agenda. If anybody wonders about -- what’s this with all these reforms -- you can hear us clearly. Our goal is total animal liberation. [emphasis added]”
— Ingrid Newkirk, “Animal Rights 2002” convention, Jun 2002 "

"“I don’t use the word 'pet.' I think it’s speciesist language. I prefer 'companion animal.' For one thing, we would no longer allow breeding. People could not create different breeds. There would be no pet shops. If people had companion animals in their homes, those animals would have to be refugees from the animal shelters and the streets. You would have a protective relationship with them just as you would with an orphaned child. But as the surplus of cats and dogs (artificially engineered by centuries of forced breeding) declined, eventually companion animals would be phased out, and we would return to a more symbiotic relationship – enjoyment at a distance.”
— Ingrid Newkirk, The Harper's Forum Book, Jack Hitt, ed., 1989, p.223 "

I haven't read into all this, but there is an overabundance of "pet" animals with nowhere to go. It's not PETA's fault and it's not the animals' faults. They are only trying to help what other people screwed up so badly. They aren't going to look after all of those animals because they will just keep coming. The people who abandon the animals are to blame, not PETA.

Go to PETA.ORG, enter "euthanize" is their search window, then click on "Why we euthanize"

Peta is so full of crap
