Now that's taking a cause a little too far. I never liked peas at any time in my life, yet I never made my parents use completely separate dishes and cooking utensils. The rest of us wash our dishes.

Witch-hunt paranoia never got society very far.

I have no choice, I live with my parents, and I'm the only vegan. I don't have the money to buy my own pots & pans. I'm really excited for college in the fall because my mom said she'll get me my own set. I know I'll most likely be living with meat eaters but I'll get to cook all my own meals, in my own pans! Woo!

For the moment, though, I make sure all the dishes that have had meat in them are properly cleaned before I use them, which is not a big deal, just a matter of washing them thoroughly.

I keep my own home vegetarian (I live alone and see no issue with having a no-meat and no-smoking policy for guests, as I don't want the smells or residue), but when I go back to my family's house, I don't mind using their pots and pans. We all know how to not burn things and are aware of how to wash. If we are preparing a meal together, we keep the utensils separate, but I think that is pretty normal because of safe food handling practices.

I share cutlery but I have my own 2 plates and a bowl...I pretty much own the grill but I still put foil on it haha and my mums only allowed to cook veggie burgers on it...I would never use the frying pan or saucepans except for one little one used for veg..which is enough for me :) May be petty but...if you can't be petty with your family then who can you be petty with!

Vegetarian for 4 years.

Yes. As long as it's all thoroughly washed. The only thing I wouldn't be inclined to share are cast-iron pots and pans. I think those are a bit absorbent, and would hold the meat flavor/juice, and some people grease them with bacon fat.

Vegan

course, he is the man i am gonna marry
i dont eat the meat, just use the cutlery ;-)
why, cos, i know him, he knows me, and thats fine

yes, because if they are all washed there isn't a huge problem. I cant even thing to afford a whole separate set for myself. Plus when you go to a restaurant you really have no choice.

It's a personal choice.

Yeah, I don't have much of a choice.

I'm the only vegan, and only one of my brothers is vegetarian-
so the rest of my family eats meat.

They get washed. though. So it's not so bad..

I share with meat eaters since I'm the only vegan in my house and it would look a bit petty if I insisted on keeping all my stuff separate!
As long as they're properly cleaned it's not a problem.

As long as things are properly washed, I see no reason not to. I don't have to though because we don't cook any meat at all in our house.

I wouldn't use the same thing after it has had meat in it without being washed, but I will wash it first then it's ok..

Yes, if it's been through the dishwasher. I don't really see a problem with it.

Vegetarian for 4 years :)

What would make a difference? There is such a thing as washing.
