Question: Is spartan pure fine granulated sugar vegan?
im just starting up being a vegan and the sugar thing is hard to figure out. the ingredients on the side read: sugar. help?

Yes, Spartan sugar is vegan since it is derived from beets. Beet sugar is processed differently then sugar cane. Cane sugar is filtered through activated carbon which may be of animal, vegetable, or mineral origin. This step is unnecessary for beet sugar and therefore is never done. So, beet sugar is always vegan and cane sugar may or may not be so best to stay away from it.



This isn't a natural sugar, but sugar is vegan. Any added sugars are not healthy, so don't consume much of it.

The healthy sugars are those found in fruits and such..the ones that come naturally. Natural sweeteners like agave nectar is fine as well.

My advice is to learn about healthy sweeteners vs unhealthy sweeteners.
