I ate meat after being veg my whole life?!

Question: I ate meat after being veg my whole life?
My parents are vegan, so I've been raised vegan. I moved out yesterday so today I decided I finally wanted to try meat. I ate a hamburger with my friends and started feeling sick about half an hour later. It's been around 2 hours and I still don't feel very good. Is it possible it's from eating meat because literally I've never had it before?

Congratulations! It's probably because your body isn't used to it. Starting out slowly is best. But that's good that you want to try new things.

Sudden dietary changes can result in stomach issues. Meat is a harder to digest food, and tends to sit in the stomach and bowels, unlike fruits, veg, etc, which may be a reason you are feeling it.

If you want to continue eating meat, the stomach discomfort may be something you need to deal with for awhile(until your body gets used to it). You may want to start off with lighter meats(chicken, fish, etc), and stay away from fast foods. Work your way up to eating meat, and allow your body to get used to the added work from digestion, more saturated fats, cholesterol, etc. It may take time, but the human body is capable of adjusting.

It's actually very likely. Your body has not digested meat (apparently ever). If you want to start, you need to basically train your stomach to produce the necessary enzymes.

Start small, and not with red meat. Try products that contain meat, but not as a main ingredient, or very small amounts of meat with other foods. In time, you can increase the amount you eat, just don't go overboard.

It's definitely possible. If you've never once consumed meat in your life, it's definitely foreign to your body. Your body isn't producing the enzymes needed to digest meat since you've never had it before. Jumping straight to a hamburger wasn't the best idea either since that's the hardest to digest. Fish or chicken would have been better.

there some hardcore people giving thumb down, if she want eat meat is her problem, you got sick cause you aren't use to eating meat, if you want to eat meat go for it i personally dont eat meat I am vegetarian but i dont preach to anyone some vegetarians are like christians fundamelist out of there mind.

That's definitely normal, your body is like what the hell is going on. Your not use to it. Isn't it funny how converting to vegan/vegetarian doesn't hurt but going back to a meat eater does. Shows the being a meat eater is evil, muahahhaa

Vegan

Actually, yes. Sudden changes in diets could cause you to feel or physically become sick. Once your body is used to something like being a vegan then thats the only thing its going to feel normal with for awhile.

Yeah that happens lol, ive been vegitarian since age 7ish, my idiot friend put a piece of chicken hiding in my food one day and I vomited for a few hours.

God I was pissed that day

your stomach is not used to the food yet because your stomach builds a enzyme prefrence which is only for certain foods so your stomach has only been introduced to meat so its nothing unusual just gotta keep trying it n over time it wont be a problem

Your body is probably not used to digesting that sort of thing, so there may be discomfort.

it happens....its normal......its just that your body isn't used to it because you have never tried it.....btw.....i hope enjoyed the burger ;)

eat at taco bell aparently there beef is only 35% beef lol

i'm pretty sure i've heard it happens

First... Welcome to the world of meat. The best thing in the world.
For your question, two things could have happened. One burger had a bunch of bacteria on it still and wasn't cooked enough. Doubt that, so yeah it was probably that you have never had it. Eat some chicken. You will like it better.
