Vegetarianism vs Meat eater?!


Question: Vegetarianism vs Meat eater?
Hey guys, I am doing an assignment on vegetarianism. There are three of us in a group and one is going "for it", another is "against it" and I have to put in the neutral aspect of it. If you were in a situation like this what kind of statement would you come up with if you had to give your neutral points/feedback on this. Basically you not taking the sides of a meat eater nore a non meat eater.

Vegetarian's often argue that meat eaters are Cannibals because we are closely related genetically to the animals we consume, but the fact is that we share roughly 98% of our DNA with bananas, so that could also be classed as cannibalism

Vegetarians are more likely to suffer from dietary deficiencies; vitamin B12 isn't found in most plants, so vegetarians are less likely to be able to maintain a sufficient level of B12 in the body. Conversely, eating too much meat can result in high levels of fat or cholesterol.

I'm not a vegetarian, so personally speaking i wouldn't know much about the benefits of being one or not, but I've done enough research for my A-level German essay to know that there are benefits to both sides of the argument. really it's up to the individual.
I really pity your group - neutral arguments for things like this are really difficult to come up with :P

Once upon a time I had a vegetarian boyfriend whose diet consisted largely of chocolate donuts. Needless to say, he was not the healthiest guy on the planet. We broke up, and several years later, I bumped into him at a wedding, at the deli table, piling every kind of meat there onto his plate. I asked him why he was no longer a vegetarian. He said that he wasn't healthy as a vegetarian, so his doctor told him he needed to eat meat.

The moral to this story is that one can have an unhealthy vegetarian diet, but it doesn't mean that being a vegetarian is automatically unhealthy. A healthy diet is a "nutritarian" diet, high in fruits and vegetables. Vegetarians, vegans, and meat eaters can all have healthy or unhealthy diets. However, a healthy diet is generally at least 90% plant based. (90% figure from Joel Fuhrman, MD "Eat to Live."



A vegertain is very dedicated I think! I tried being a Vegertain and it only lasted about 2 weeks! But your family (inless your whole family is a vegertain) is still gonna buy meat and their is gonna be leftovers cause theirs one less person eating it! My friends mom made her eat Veggie Burgers which she said was really gross so she just went back to eating meat. I honestly dont see whats so bad about eating animals? You have been eating it your whole life (inless your family has been vegertarians your whole life) so you have aten meat before! For a meat eater it's good because you get iron (me myself i have a low iron count) and your suppose to get at least 2/3 servings of meat a day! If you dont get enough iron you can pass out and faint (thats what happend to me)! But on the other hand not eating meat is good because everyday animals are slaughtered!

Well for starters, even your phrasing of "Vegetarianism vs Meat eater" shows a level of bias against omnivores. People who include meat in their diets are not "meat eaters", implying that all they eat is meat--they would be called "Carnivores". The proper term is "Omnivorism" because they also consume plant matter as well.



Both can be good. The important thing is that you need to pay attention to what you eat and how much you're eating.



Obviously they both have health benefits but mostly vegeterianism is more of an aspct of life



Both can be healthy diets if attention is paid to eating a well balanced meal.
