Did God intend for humans to be vegetarians?!
Answers:
No EVOLUTION made us omnivores which means we can eat animals and fruits. you shouldnt bring faith into these types of questions.
I don't think God intended for humans to be draining the planet of life, whether it be cutting down forests, overcultivation, factory farming, or killing animals when it's all so unnecessary. No matter how much proof anyone provides, neither side will reach an agreement. I personally consider murder and 'killing for food' the same thing. I think it's wrong, so I say yes; God did intend for humans to be vegetarians.
We don't.
Look at a horse's teeth. OUrs are like that, Flat edged.
We do not have fangs like wolves and dogs.
Or tigers or lions.
We have flat teeth.
The only teeth with a slight point do not extend beyond the flat edge of the other teeth.
Also, out intestines are like the intestines of all plant eaters- long twisting colons, full of pockets and nodules, which are designed to absorb water vitamins and nutrients from plant foods. The plant foods, once stripped of the water and nutrients, leave fibre, which cleans out the colon as it passes through.
We have plant eating intestines like this, as do all other plant eating animals.
Meat eating animals- lions, tigers etc have very much shorter intestines, and the intestine walls are smooth, they are designed to absorb fat and salt and no water.
All meat eating animals have intestines like this.
We do not.
God, Allah, Whomever. Nature designed this species- the human animal, to eat plant foods, make it's own cholesterol ( not to eat the cholesterol from another animal- that is why human often get sick with too mch cholesterol when they eat animal meat), and form its own b12 and folic acid from it's DNA when absorbing plant foods.
There is a problem with your question, because you seem to be using logic to outline your position (ie what our teeth are useful for) but your position relies on something which is illogical (whether gods were involved in the development of our teeth) and cannot be described by evidence (such as whether or not our teeth are adapted to eating meat).
Leaving religion aside, I'll discuss the actual evidence of what has happened to our species leading to the types of teeth we have. Our teeth are NOT adapted to eating meat, that is why we had to invent tools. As we evolved from apes which were largely herbivorous, we adapted to changes in climate which occurred between 2-4 million years ago. This meant that many of the plant food sources (which are thought to have been mainly fruits) were replaced by grasslands and there was not enough food for our ancestors to survive. They began to feed on animals, probably as scavengers at first until tool use was sufficient for them to take on living animals. As their tools became more advanced, so did their capacity for finding foods in particular through developing effective hunting strategies.
All this is known from fossils, which indicate not only the types of animals and plants which were around at a given time, but in some cases also the climate (through the chemical signatures of elements in the fossils).
Anyway our teeth are nothing like those of animals which need meat to survive, and without tools our ancestors could never have become hunters. But what you need to consider is why the particular god you believe in would want us not to be vegetarian. Animals feel pain and they can suffer. Nobody in their right mind would try and deny that, at least not for vertebrates and the higher invertebrates. If your god intended us to eat them, why must they feel pain? Why must they suffer just the same as you or I if it were we experiencing those injuries? Why is your god not concerned with this suffering which occurs, when we are capable of surviving on plant foods? Incidentally we can survive without meat, but not without plants. So what does that tell you?
Since there is an absence of evidence that gods were involved in any stage of life I couldn't say that they intended modern humans to be vegetarians, meat eaters or even to have existed in the first place. But using logic and the evidence at hand, we can easily see that for well over 2000 years humans have thrived as vegetarians hence it doesn't matter whether people say gods intended us to be vegetarians or not.

Honestly I don't know what I believe. I think when God created the earth He intended for humans to eat only plants ("Every seed-bearing plant for food" like it says in the Bible). But we evolved over time and took on new ways of life, which led to how we eat and live today.
Honestly our teeth aren't that special. I can barley bite into an apple, let alone an animal. When we cook meat it softens it up. Nobody knows exactly what our teeth our meant for. There are theories of course, but it's not like our teeth come with an explanation and list of what they're meant to be used for.
well. i don't know what 'god' intended. i don't really think what our teeth are shaped like should matter so much lol. if you don't want to eat meat, then don't. i don't let my teeth guide my desiscions lol, so im a vegetarian. so what if we ARE meant to eat meat, there are ways to substitute for it.
also, don't shove your religion down people's throat, whether you do or don't beleive in a god.
I don't know much about religion. But only life can nourish life. There isn't a line. All living things can feed on other types of living things. Its preference. I prefer to eat vibrant and alive plants that keep me vibrant and alive instead of a dead carcass that people process and cook to make even more dead.
I don't care. I live in a first world country where unlike my ancestors I have a choice in my diet. I don't have to eat animals to survive. If I can be healthy and happy with out killing an animal it would be selfish if I did.
It doesn't matter if "God" intended for us to eat meat. I am sure "God" didn't intend for animals to be tortured. It even says that in the Bible for what it's worth.
What empirical or analytical evidence suggests a god, let alone that such an entity made us?
Fun fact: We can also eat cardboard and human feces.
If we were supposed to be omnivore no one would be able to survive as vegetarian/vegan!

I hope this isn't a case of a Religion category troll morphing into a Vegetarian category troll.
Reread Genesis - He did originally. I intend to stick to God's original plan. It was a good one.
What god?
vegan :D
people need to stop assuming everybody believes in god
Yes, that was God's original intent.
Genesis 2
I'm with Deer Hunter.. God does not exist.
Lol @ the ignorant people answering this question. The title clearly asked if God intended for humans to be vegetarians, not if you believe in God. It refers to the bible, if you do not know it then you lack the knowledge to answer. You could have simply skipped this question.
I don't remember the scriptures, but originally we were but soon after we were allowed to eat meat.
And to the person mentioning evolution, you should read how darwins theory is deemed worthless to the science communitity now. Even before then you should have got a clue when Darwin adandoned his own theory. Its 2011, keep up kid :D.
Open minded and has no desire to shout my religious beliefs at random people.
God/nature/whatever you believe in did not intend for humans to be vegetarians, as is evidenced by our digestive tracts, starting with our teeth.
God didn't intend anything, he doesn't exist.
KansasGirl [2011) You are the ignorant one.
Yes why? Else would he make them,
