How do I get my mom to accept my vegetarianism?!

Question: How do I get my mom to accept my vegetarianism?
I made a pledge to be a vegetarian for thirty days, and my mom doesn't support it at all.

Shes cooking a meal with meat for dinner, and she even said that shes going to fry bacon (one of my favorite meals b4 veggo) tommorow and she wont let me have any. Its been just two days, and I havent eaten meat, and she thinks I am becoming anorexic.
i tried to show her this video:

and she won't watch it because she doesn't want it to change her views.

How can I get her to accept my vegetarianism?

Well if she's not going to let you have any bacon, then that's to your advantage. It'd be much more difficult if she was hanging meat in your face and trying to get you to eat it.
Your mom is just very prejudice. Older people tend to be more closed-minded because they have their morals and ways of life permanently set in their mind. I've been veg for about 3 years and my mom still will ask me every now and then "why don't you want any meat? or milk? or ice cream?".
Honestly just stick with it. She may not change her views about meat, but she'll eventually accept your decision. It just takes time.

Jeez, thirty days and she can't be bothered to help out? That's kinda bitchy.

I love meat, but everyone should be able to eat how they want. Maybe if you offer to pitch in on cooking, or make your own meals. Be aware that getting all your nutrients can be harder in your situation, so make sure to eat a good variety of foods (not just popcorn or something like that which is vegetarian but not a balanced diet.)

She's a bit extremist if she thinks you are going to waste away by not eating meat for just 30 days. Tell her it is good for your figure!

You can get all the protein you need from eating vegetables and some dairy products like cheese and eggs. People still believe that you can't get enough protein if you don't eat meat but is has been conclusively scientifically proven to be a myth. You can eat perfectly healthily without ever eating meat.

Well, just speak with her and tell her: you're going to be a vegetarian. If she gets mad or something, then get all emotional lol. No, but seriously, you need to let her know the good points of being a vegetarian. 1. More animals for their beauty 2. Less dying cute animals. Just tell her and explain to her as best as you can.

My friend tells me everything...She's a vegetarian.

OH MY GOD! more things than just milk and meat make you fat and many meat based can be cooked in a healthy way and in chicken can you taste it i didnt think so. cook it enough there will be no blood and most people would probably scold me for saying this but its survival of the fittest and we are winning i, sorry for bashing your proceeds but if your really determined to do this just ignore the people who are trying to diter you and do it. so what if your mom fixes bacon ignore it.

I have no idea how old you are, but I discovered that living up to the expectations of other people is a waste of time. Live up to your own expectations, hold yourself to your own high standards, and let the rest of the world learn to accept you on your own terms.

Just the opinion of one man.

Sounds like she is trying to make you fail and doesn't take you seriously at all. Stick to your guns and don't give up. If you do you'll never live it down. She's waiting for you to fail so she can feel like she was right. If you prove her wrong she'll have to eat her words.

You're living under her roof, so you need to follow her rules.

Look at this video and learn the truth about PETA: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9ijLulwU…

At the very least, you ought to start buying your own food and cooking your own meals.

if i was a mother i would accept your decisions because youre my child.
you should tell her cooking without meat is easier than cooking with meat

vegetarian

Your mom is nuts.

If your mom doesn't want to cook vegetarian things and you don't want to eat meat, it's time for you to get in the kitchen and take responsibility for your own choice by preparing your own meals. Make your food healthy, clean up after yourself, and volunteer to make enough for everyone since you're in the kitchen anyway. A relentlessly positive attitude will probably get you a lot farther than whatever that video is. (I'm afraid to look.)

You should learn that steak is healthier than salad.

Killing lettuce is wrong.

I am lettuce
