How can people put up with the stink of meat?!

Question: How can people put up with the stink of meat?
I just dont see how. When my mom has to make meat for my dad, the whole apartment stinks.
How can people eat that stinkness? If you eat red meat (well, any meat actually), does it stink to you? Or does it smell good?
Im a vegetarian and i dont see how..
Also, if you're a meat eater think about this: Its ok for you to eat an animal, but not a human? Humans are animals too. Just at the top of the chain.

Answers:

I know what you mean. My mum made chicken balls earlier, and it smelled SO disgusting. I was actually gagging.

Vegan. :D

Meat doesn't stink to me and I have no problem eating it.
I also feel a lot better eating meat because it is more natural. We weren't meant to eat Tofu and have all these supplements and stuff just so we could fight nature? As you said, we are also animals (albeit highly evolved) and in nature, animals eat other animals.
Also, plants are living things and vegitarians eat plants all the time. I feel that they are on a similar level because in essence, you are killing a living thing.

I can tell if people eat meat by the way they smell sometimes. However, I don't notice the meat eater smell on everyone.

I can definitely tell if someone is a meat eater by their attitude and energy level.

And I don't like the smell of meat when it is raw or cooking but after it is done being cooked I like the smell even though I am vegan-ish.

Also, someone said that no other animals eat each other. YES THEY DO! Haven't you ever heard the phrase "they eat their young" Anacondas give live birth and don't eat at all throughout their pregnancy but if any of their babies are still born (which can be a lot because they birth so many at a time) they eat the still borns. Just one example.

How can people put up with the stink of meat? Easy. A gas mask. No, I'm kidding, but meat somehow doesn't smell bad to me. Or perhaps I've never noticed it? Anyways, when I eat meat, i like to think that I am putting the meat to good use. You see, when someone kills an animal, it's already...dead, so you can't really bring it back to life. But if you eat it....at least it'll come to some good use? ........And the human part, uhhh. I can't really answer that.....=.=. But yes, somehow it is. I think it's just because we humans always saw other people eat meat, so we thought it was okay. But rarely you see a human eating human meat right? So....yeah?....I feel awkward.... .

Meat smells great, cooked or not. I see you depend largely on the old cliché of generating an emotional argument against meat eating, and that can always be easily countered with real facts and awareness.

By definition, an emotive argument rejects reason (when it conflicts) and clings to straws that bolster emotion and emotion only. The passionate anti-meat activist even carries a static arsenal of factoids and sound bites that sound true but they quickly crumble under close scrutiny.

Easy to digest meat and fat made our big brains possible. I’m not saying vegetarianism makes people stupid, because it doesn’t. I’m just saying they should give credit where credit’s due. You’re able to ruminate on the horrors of meat eating and “articulate” your arguments for a very simple reason: your ancestors ate a ton of fresh, bloody meat and animal fat. Just be glad they didn’t share your dietary proclivities, or else you’d be ruminating on actual grass, twigs, and sticks instead of enjoying culture, language, music, and the other accomplishments of mankind’s big brain.

Are you saying that each and every animal should live together in peace without any competition for food whatsoever? Is it wrong when a mountain lion catches a dear? Is it wrong when a spider eats a fly? We have to do what we have to do to survive. If you don't want to eat meat, then don't. But don't look down upon those who do.

I love the smell and taste of raw beef and fish, including sea urchin, shrimp and lobster. If I thought it stunk, I wouldn't eat it. Generally, humans are genetically wired that way. Raw pork smells good too, but I eat it medium rare. Raw chicken is the only thing I don't care to smell, but LOVE well cooked chicken.

Meat smells AMAZING. Especially bacon. I don't eat meat but I love the way it smells.

No other animals eat each other, just as humans do not. We eat creatures weaker than us as do other carnivores and omnivores. Meat eaters rule the world. They're stronger, faster and more cunning than their plant eating counter parts; They have to be to survive and hunt.

They dont "put up with it".....they enjoy the smell.
Some people dont get how you could smell meat and NOT want to eat it.
Not everyone is you, okay?

P.S. I do not believe for a second that you save the seeds from you fruit and regrow them.

Well with your logic lions shouldn't eat animals and spiders shouldn't catch insects. It's a difference of opinion. Don't judge others just because they are different or like something you don't like. You may do things that are considered weird or different.

God gave us animals to eat after the flood of noah.
He never gave us humans to eat. I can see why.

How do I put up with the smell of meat?
Simple I just don't sniff it.

I think it smells great.

And I'm an omnivore, not a cannibal. Why would I eat a human? There are so many different animals to eat.

I rather enjoy the smell of meat, so I don't complain about it. That is, unless it's burnt.

How can people put up with the stink of fruit and vegetables?

Ever heard of durian fruit? When was the last time you smelled a pawpaw?

How can you put up with the stink of garlic? It smells good to the rest of us.

Smell, like taste, is subjective.

Smells good, your the one who is different not them.

Raw or cooked doesn't bother me. As long as its not rotten.

I wish Jesus gave us humans and dog meat to eat :D

lol
