Question for vegan women?!

Question: Question for vegan women?
Do you get PMS? If not, then how often do you eat dark green leafy veggies, or what do you think are your main other sources of calcium? (I know I can google sources of calcium, but those tend to be generalizations, vs what to really eat.) Studies have shown that milk leads to a reduction in PMS, and I've noticed this recently when I've drastically reduced my milk consumption (never had it before).

Answers:

I used to get horrible PMS before I became vegetarian- cramps so bad I had to stay home, throwing up even though I couldn't eat, etc. Now, as a vegan, I rarely get anything other than just feeling a little weird. I eat leafy greens everyday (big salads for dinner), and I also take a calcium supplement daily (my aunt is a doctor, and actually says that every woman should take a calcium supplement, so yeah).

my own experience

Get a plant milk fortified with calcium. One cup of the soy milk I currently buy contains 300mg of calcium, while the whole milk my dad drinks only has about 270mg. You can also get cereals with calcium and have it with the plant milk and that will add up. I can't give much info on direct plant sources myself, but this link is helpful for all vegan nutrition info;

In my personal experiences my PMS drastically reduced when I went vegan, mainly because I was eating healthier in general after cutting out meat and dairy. I still get a little stressed and irritable at that time but it's barely noticeable. I don't get cramps at all anymore.

No, but I didn't get PMS when I was an omnivore either. I eat dark green vegetables maybe 3 times a week. I usually take a calcium vitamin every day.
