how can i successfully turn vegetarian?!


Question: How can i successfully turn vegetarian?
i want to stop eating alot
& when i eat alot, i mainly eat meat!
so i want to stop to loose a few pounds.
im 15 , any tips?

I didn't stop eating meat to lose weight but I lost 25lbs go figure lol. but going vegetarian was really easy for me. I cut out all meat but ate fish, then I stopped eating fish and shrimp/clams all together. No meat at all! Fish is meat, make sure you read the ingredients on the pack of food packages. make sure it doesn't contain Whey, or animal lard. If you eat meat a lot I would cut out a different type of meat each week. There are plenty of amazingly delicious alternatives. Quorn, Morningstar farms, Yves, Tofutti, Boca burgers, Veggie Patch.

Well, in order to successfully 'turn' vegetarian, you might want to stop eating meat. That would help.

And tips.... well stop eating meat. There's no other way. Unfortunately theres nothing like nicotine gum to ween you off of eating meat. Haha (:

Drink lots of protein drinks and high- protein foods to make up for the protein that your body is used to from the meat.

Of course it will be hard if you are used to it!! (it was hard for me too) just like quitting anything, you have to eliminate it from your diet gradually so your not quitting cold turkey. Sometimes eliminating something you are used to for so long suddenly can be the worst thing!

Also, there are many surprisingly good substitutes for meat out there made for vegetarians!

I'm a vegetarian.



There are other ways to lose weight. U have to make a lifestyle change if u want lose weight AND keep it off. Maybe vegetarian isnt for u, since it sounds like u enjoy ur meat. And theres nothing wrong with that. Just saying, vegetarianism is not a diet. Yes, there are alot of meat-a-like foods now, and they taste like crap. My dad made me try just about every one of them when i turned vegetarian. Theres only one brand thats halfway decent, when smothered with toppings. So, if u arent committed to eliminating meat for life, dont bother. Ull most likely go back to carnivorous binging. Instead, see ur doctor or nutritionist to develop a healthy diet/weight loss plan u can live witi. Good luck.

There are a lot of foods that taste like meat but are all veggie, such as a veggie burger or veggie chicken nuggets (Don't let the name miss lead you) and there are also veggie hot dogs that taste just like a regular hot dog. I suggest trying these foods.
