Silk = a soy milk or a coconut milk?!

Question: Silk = a soy milk or a coconut milk?
Is "silk" a type of soy milk brand or coconut milk?

It does not taste anything like coconut. Had it at a friend's place, because it's what her husband drinks who is lactose-intolerant.

I'm vegetarian.

I didn't BUY it, I just HAD some at my friends house. Did not even personally touch the carton. So I wouldn't have seen whether or not it said "soy." All's I saw was "silk", and asked what it was, and got the very simple answer "well, it's not cow's milk, if that's what your asking. It's a different kind, for my husband because he's lactose intolerant. Want to try some?"

Silk is soy milk

Me, I buy it all the time.

Well, I don't know if they are making those new types of milk, but it's been known as soy milk. Anyway, I've heard a lot of vegans have a problem with that company because it's owned by deansfoods.

I don't know why she made it so complicated. Maybe because there may be stigma attached to soy, so she didn't want to tell you right away.

But then again, store brand bread is owned by the same company as store brand pepperoni pizza.

Silk has been making soy milk for a long time now-I've had it since 2001. However, due to the recent trend to move away from dairy products and into other alternatives, they branched out into almond and then coconut milks, to keep up with demand. Soy milk can still be seen as something off the wall to some people; almond and coconut seem to have avoided that stigma so far.

Silk is a brand, known for soy milk. You can find it in most super markets.

its soy milk, you could also even get almond milk, I prefer the almond over the silk

You really could have asked follow-up questions or went and looked at the carton. Silk is soy or almond.

They're well known for soy milk but they just started to make almond milk. Odds are you had soy.

Silk is a soy milk product.

It's soy milk.

It says soy right in the ingredients list.

As others have said, Silk is known for soy milk, but they also make almond and now coconut, so it could have been either. Each flavor is distinguished by the color of the carton - soy regular is usually red, light is blue, etc - I can probably tell you what flavor you had with that information.
