Did you ever know a vegan who didn't have money in the bank?!
Answers:
I went vegan when I was a sophomore in college. My bank account was rarely in the triple digits.
So I guess you're implying that it's expensive to be vegan?
That is completely false. I spend less on groceries than most omnis I know. And I am by no means "well-off" financially. I work in retail for f*cks sake (with an Etsy shop and consignment goods on the side). I have a little money in the bank because I know how to manage my finances and not spend money I don't actually have, unlike most Americans who are in debt up to their ears. :)
Yes, actually, I don't know any rich vegans. Personally, I'm middle class, we live comfortably, but we don't have "money in the bank." And next year, when I go to college and live on my own, I'm gonna be even more poor, since most of my money will need to go towards tuition.
I don't think so. What does vegan/non-vegan have to do with financial responsibility?
Huh? Eating vegan is the cheapest way to go.
I know a lot of people without money in the bank, vegan or not.
If you don't buy fake meat and prepared foods it's extremely cheap to be vegan.
I know one with a lot of debt amongst other problems.
I'm a starving artist vegan, so there you go. :)
That's one of the dumbest stereotypes I've heard in a long time..
what?
yea...
Are you trying to imply that veganism is a rich person's right? That having a conscience and worrying about your health is only something the rich can do? Is that how you justify eating those burgers, that you're poor and it's all you can afford? Well, we're poor. We're vegan. We eat organic when we can find it. We shop exclusively at the Walmart in our town. We just know how to make decisions based on what we can afford.
Well, right now, I'm living on my savings until I can find a job, and I haven't got much left. :'(
