Vegan-friendly sack lunches?!
That being said, I come across my first obstacle. Of course, high schools don't offer vegan-friendly meals, so I have to make my own. I went to make a peanut butter sandwhich. Just as I was jabbing my spoon in the peanut butter jar, I scolded myself. It was common sense that a good vegan habit was to check the ingerdients, so I did. Much to my surprise, I found one of the ingredients to be honey. Oh, I knew that was a big fat NEGATIVE! The thing is, I don't know what else I can eat. I need something that's convenient for packing and is tasty at room temperature. Vegans! Help!

Good for you for becoming vegan. I would recommend being vegetarian for at least a month before becoming a vegan. Do you really want to try this out now knowing it is the best for you and turning away from it later because it was too much too soon? Take it easy and be easy on yourself. You will do awesome and learn more if you just take it slow and make it a lifestyle choice rather than a diet, or impulse because of what you have heard from the meat industry.
As for vegan snacks try...
Raisins, peanut butter (a lot do NOT contain honey) , and celery.
Oreos (yes they are vegan)
Nuts ( candied?)
Also , if you like butter, try Earth Balance. It is a great vegan alternative.
Good Luck and remember , take it easy. You have made a great decision! :)
Since when do they put honey in peanut butter? x3
Note: I am a l/o vegetarian that reads labels with everything, and I never seen peanut butter with honey.
Anyway, plenty of natural peanut butter does not contain animal byproducts, so you might want to try that.
go for salads!!!! im not joking :)
great snacks are nuts and fruit
you can find vegan friendly peanut butter
have toast with fruit spread
stir fry some rice and vegetables
If you've already bought the peanut butter, go ahead and finish it off. Then when you buy a new jar, make sure it only has peanuts and maybe salt.
Yves and Tofurkey both make vegan deli slices that you can put on bread with mustard or vegan mayo and whatever veggies you like. My boyfriend and I have brought them on Megabus for a quick lunch on the road, and as long as you keep the components somewhat separate, you should be okay.

Hey I'm happy to hear you are going vegan but it can be hard finding anything that isn't made out of or tested on animals its disgusting really! I would say going straight into veganism is like jumping straight in to the deep end and you should try vegetarianism first as this will accustom you to the life style because it is a lifestyle. Anyway pack lunch ideas
vegan sushi
noodles
rice
rice cakes
biscuits with humus
mixed fruit salad
Vegetable soups
bread with vegan marge
Vegan chocolate
Vegetable curry with naan and chutney
Think of meals you would have normaly and think how you can replace the meat with vegetables and find vegan alternatives in sauces. Visit a health food store they have plenty of stuff you will need to stock up on to help you out!
