Why veggies and fruits do not have coupons or go on sell?!

Question: Why veggies and fruits do not have coupons or go on sell?
I am thinking that maybe because it comes from our local farmers or something.

Answers:

Stores don't pass out coupons for produce, but they do run specials.

For the best prices on produce, buy what is in season

My markets do run sales on produce quite frequently. There are few instances where coupons are offered however, My market gives a generic coupon that simply says 50 cents off any produce purchase but you won't see a coupon unless the produce item is a brand name item (like bagged salads from dole occasionally offer coupons). The same is true for most meat and dairy. This is because there is no specific brand where a coupon encourages you to stay with a brand. Even where there is a brand, it is usually just a regional brand. It is the national brands that typically offer coupons.

Fruits and veggies do not have coupons but they are on sale every week.

Where d you live? My grocery store is Very expsensive (only one with in 80 miles) and I don't even spend 200 dollars in produce. Garlic for instance is 5.19 a pound here.

Are you buying all organic? Dd you know that reallt the only fruits/veggies that "need" to be purchased organic are the dirty dozen or thin skinned/peeled fruits.

Veggies and fruits do not have coupons unless they are prepackaged and the grocery cashier can easily control how much produce should be discounted, but they DO go on sale.

There are regular coupons for and sales on produce at all of my local grocery stores.
