are old el paso taco shells vegan?!

Question: Are old el paso taco shells vegan?
soft shells and regular?

Answers:

The hard shelled ones are ok but the soft shelled ones probably aren't vegan, but you'll need to contact the manufacturer and ask whether the glycerin and L-cysteine is from animal or non-animal origin. Glycerin is often of plant origin but L-cysteine is mostly from animals (even human hair!!).

Hard shell ingredients: Limed Corn, Palm Oil, Salt, TBHQ (Preservative)

Soft shell ingredients: Enriched Flour Bleached (Wheat Flour, Niacin, Iron, Thiamin Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Folic Acid) Water, Partially Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil (Soybean, Cottonseed) With Mono- and Diglycerides, Glycerin, Corn Syrup Solids, Salt, Baking Powder (Baking Soda, Corn Starch, Sodium Aluminum Sulfate, Calcium Sulfate, Monocalcium Phosphate), Potassium Sorbate and Calcium Propionate (Preservatives), Monoglycerides, Fumaric Acid, L-cysteine Hydrochloride.

Technically no..regular salt is not vegan. And almost all the other ingredients are sketchy.
