Your brother is mistaken.
If you're a vegetarian, one assumes you still consume animal products, like eggs and milk, so all you need to know is how to replace the nutrients in meat. Nothing could be simpler.
Meat contains protein, iron, zinc, and the b vitamins riboflavin, thiamin and b-12.
Protein is found in beans, nuts, seed, lentils, meat substitutes, potatoes, etc. (If you consume enough calories, you’re getting enough protein.)
Iron is found in dark leafy greens, nuts, whole grains and beans.
Zinc is found in beans, nuts, whole grains, fortified breakfast cereals, and dairy products.
Riboflavin in found in dark green leafy vegetables, mushrooms, asparagus and broccoli.
Thiamin is found in whole grains, nuts, sunflower seeds, peas, milk, cauliflower, spinach and legumes.
B-12 is found in eggs, dairy products, fortified breakfast cereals, nutritional yeast and organic produce.
I went vegetarian at age 12 (now I'm 18 and vegan!). My parents did NOT support me at first so I had to cook all my own meals, which was difficult. However, I showed my parents and sister this video and then they understood why I wanted to be vegetarian so they helped me out:

It's easy to get all the protein you need as a vegetarian. In fact, most people get 3-4 times more protein than they actually need which is why obesity is such a big issue in the US. You can get protein from almost any foods - milk/soymilk, beans, nuts, bagels, peanut butter, even most vegetables.
Read this and then have your brother read it. It's an article about vegetarian nutrition for kids and teens :)

Good luck :D I hope I was helpful - I love being vegetarian and I'm glad you're thinking about it too!
I became a vegetarian when I was 12. 6 years later, I am still a vegetarian and I will never go back to eating meat.
Eat a lot of vegetables. If you are a vegetarian, you better love them (and you should because they're flavorful and declicious). Also eat a lot of nuts and try to eat cage-free eggs and organic milk.
I hope you are doing it for the right reasons. Stay healthy, work hard at it, and good luck!
well he is right, if you don't eat the right stuff you could become weak. in meat you find protein and Iron, i would suggest eating nuts for protein. but for Iron i have not idea. but you will have to chang your diet to fit your new life style, good luck
He's very wrong. Find out what foods have protein in them. Find out what foods are rich in iron and vitamin B 12(hard to get, but seaweed is one and it's sold at health food stores, and very nutritious).
nope i went vegetarian around your age.

There are lots of sources for protein in vegetarian diet:
lentils, mung bean, beans, milk etc. It's totally untrue that you will grow weak. Instead you will be a lot more healthier!
Vegetarian since birth
Your brother is a no-nothing idiot, ask him where he got his medical degree
