Aspartic Acid in Protein Powder?!

Question: Aspartic Acid in Protein Powder?
I was wanting to try the Optimum Nutrition 100% Gold Standard Powder and it has aspartic acid, is that the same as aspartame? I don't want that chemical in my body if it is.

Thanks

Answers:

Aspartic acid is an amino acid, not an essential one, so actually one that your body would sythesize on its own. It can be found in Aspratame, but also in normal non-manufactured food sources, like sprouted seeds and certain meats and dairy.
