What's a quick but good Vegan breakfast?!

Question: What's a quick but good Vegan breakfast?
(Im going to be doing the Daniel Fast for 21 days and well I did two trial days and I worried about not getting enough calcium and protein since lack of meat or milk.

Can I drink a peanut butter and jelly sandwich?

Or is there any other quick vegan breakfast?

Answers:

Oatmeal with fruit and sugar.
Um.. you can if you put it in a blender. I don't know if that would taste good though.
I usually just have toast with soy margarine and water.

You might want to consider smoothies with water, almond or rice milk so you wont have to use dairy. Many green vegetables like spinach have calcium. So your smoothie could consist of fruits like berries, oranges, bananas, apples, pears cut up with a protein powder made of rice and if you want to make it a little sweeter add a natural sweetener like agave nectar or maple syrup. An example: cut up half a cup of apple, half cup of berries, 1 or 2 bananas depending on thickness desired, a half scoop of protein powder, 1/4 - 1/2f cup of spinach, 1/2 - 3/4 c. water, almond or rice milk and add sweetener to taste. Blend it and vary the amounts until you get what you like.

I have no idea what the Daniel fast is, but as far as vegan breakfasts, these are some of my favorites:

*a banana or kiwi or other fruit sliced into a bowl mixed with soy yogurt and some granola or crunchy cereal
*tofu scramble on toast or English muffins (more of a weekend breakfast b/c it takes some time to prepare, but then you can have the leftovers early in the week)
*homemade waffles with either jam or real maple syrup (also something I would usually make on weekends or days off & then have leftovers)
*fresh fruit (loooove grapefruit) or a smoothie with peanut butter toast or some healthy cereal
*any kind of leftovers I have, for example, the other day I had leftover seasoned brussels sprouts & brown rice for breakfast with some orange juice
*et cetera

If I'm really in a rush in the morning, I keep things like instant (microwavable) oatmeal, nuts, dried fruit, trail mix, etc. in my locker at work to munch on if I don't have time to eat before I go, I also might grab a piece of fruit or something on my way out too.

And, just so you know, most shredded wheat cereal is vegan, but frosted mini wheats aren't. There is gelatin in the frosted part.

the Daniel Fast:
1. Only fruits and vegetables
2. Only water for a beverage
3. No sweeteners and no breads

Nothing with leavening (yeast or baking powder) is technically allowed, so you'd have to have a PB&J without bread. Try using whole wheat tortillas. Just spread on a 1" stripe of peanut butter, a 1" stripe of jam across the middle and roll it up.

Protein will not be a problem, as long as you eat. Our protein needs are a LOT less than we are led to believe by the Meat & Dairy Industries who basically run the FDA and Dept. of Agriculture and make lots of money selling high protein foods. Only about 5% of your calories need to be protein calories. The rest are carbohydrates and fats.

Check out the Daniel Fast site's recipes. I love scrambled tofu for breakfast.

The breakfast cereal -Total- with soy milk. not only will you have one of the most healthiest cereals out there that provides many nutrients, but your using soy milk which is heather than dairy milk from a cow. however soy milk cost twice as much as regular milk and the taste takes time to get used to. however this IS the ultimate vegan breakfast

Total+soy milk= Quick, easy, healthy,

Done

Frosted Mini wheats are not vegan -- they contain gelatin, which is made of animal parts.

On the other hand, a bowl of oatmeal made of steel cut oats and some nice fresh fruit are a good, healthful Vegan breakfast. I'm not familiar with the Daniel Fast so I don't know if it fits that.

If you want really quick you can try muesli with soy milk and a side of fruit and maybe some veg (such as carrots and labanese cucumber). It's a simple meal that feels great for breakfast, heaps healthy and takes 2 minutes to prepare.

oatmeal with soymilk and brown sugar
SHredded Wheat with silken tofu cream and soymilk
Wholewheat burrito with peanut butter and banana
Wholewheat pita with jelly and sliced apple
Brown rice with agave syrup and soyyoghurt

no, you can not DRINK a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. and honestly nothing sounds good, just eat fruit sense you can't eat anything meat or anything made from an animal

You can get milk made from soy or from all different types of nuts, like almond, hazelnuts, etc.

Spinach smoothie with bananas and orange juice with a slice of peanut buttered toast or some granola/trail mix.

My favorites are tofu "meat" with veggies, spinach and hot sauce
hash browns
and pb and j on whole wheat toast.

frosted mini-wheats
