Fruit! Fruit! Fruit! Fruit needs to make a comeback as the original food for us human primates.

If your diet is mostly fruit and veg - like gorillas, elephants, etc - you won't need any supplements.

You don't have to limit yourself to veggies and salads, experiment with new grains like couscous, millet, quinoa... they are delicious with the right recipe. Also pasta, with homemade tomato sauce, tahini sauce, or even just a little olive oil and salt is good as well. Oatmeal makes a good breakfast and if you want milk, then soy creamers are great. Also pancakes can easily be made vegan, as well as muffins and parfaits and such. vegweb.com has many delicious vegan recipes that are not difficult to make and tend to be quite tasty. Nuts, dried fruits, soy yogurt, and frozen fruit, as well as fresh fruit and veggies make great snacks. Also, health food stores are selling great vegan "junk food" nowadays--my favorite place to find vegan snack food is Trader Joes.

Being vegan for a week is a big feat, even for me and im just a normal vegetarian. however some things you would never expect go through animal process. some potatoes chips aren't vegan, hell eve wine isnt vegan. all dairy products such as cheese, and even chocolate. if you are wanting to go vegan for a week buy some soy milk, its healther than normal milk....lets just say the price isnt. also, you can still eat many dishes as long as you replace some ingredients here and there. there are many subsitutes for eggs to make dishes such as cakes, so don't think vegan means you go to your nearest grocey store, buy a bag of veggies and chow down. you can also experiment with tofu, i like to put tofu in my ramen noodles (the ones without chicken). and there are many organic foods such as veggies burgers, veggie hot dogs and even veggie sloppy joes which are my favorite of all vegetarain meals. as long as you check the ingredients of foods before you eat them its not as hard being vegan for a week. now being a true vegan, now that's a challenge

vegans= eat foods that have nothing to do with animals
lactose vegetarians= eat dairy
ova vegetarians= eat fish
ova- lactose vegetarians= eat fish and dairy (this is what i am, seeing as i dont feel comfortable taking vitamin pills to obtain the nutrients you need from fish, however i only rarely eat fish.)

and remember, don't be vegan unless you truly want to, being a vegetarian is not a competition to see who can go the longest without meat. and even know vegans do need some sort of vitamins to get there daily nutrients, there still as healthy as anyone else such as all vegetarians.

I have tried to be vegan and successfully lasted 3 weeks....then i couldn't go on taking the pills i needed to provide my nutrients. i have been a vegetarian for awhile though
