Vegetarian Help Please!?!
Answers:
Factory farms are filled with animal waste and pollution and take up and destroy more land than crops do. The 5000 gallons of water to produce beef that a lot of people quote is false, although processing meat products does use up a considerable more amount of water than processing crops and vegetables. World hunger is an issue that is a combination of overpopulation in certain areas that can't sustain the number of people and not having a reliable source of food. 70 percent of our crops in North America go toward feeding livestock that are put on our plates, if those crop seeds were sent to areas in the world that were hunger stricken, the crops would produce steady income and healthy food, and the plants produce seeds that can be replanted so the crop harvest would partly replenish itself.
People becoming vegetarians does Nothing to solve world hunger. World hunger is a distribution problem, not a lack of food problem. There already is enough food for everyone, and we can't seem to get it to the people that need it, so growing more won't help anything. There are many factors for world hunger. Poverty, bad climate/soil, corrupt governments, distribution, and more.
Raising animals for food does contribute to pollution and does use water as well as using fossil fuels. But so does produce farming and Any other type of industry on Earth. There are Many different things people can do to help minimize these problems. But it seems many vegans (not all) only focus on the meat industry as the Only source of this problem and condemn others that support the meat industry while themselves are contributing to the problem in so many different ways.
Actually vegetarians *does* help out. If we stopped breeding so many cows and feeding them corn, we would have so much food left over for humans. Cows don't eat corn, then naturally eat grass.
So much water is waisted from breeding cows and producing meat. It takes numerous gallons if water to raise and feed a cow, and then turn it into a hamburger.
It doesn't. Becoming a vegetarian just ruins people's one true chance to enter the kingdom of the Colonel. If you pay homage to the Colonel, you may experience the epic taste of his secret recipe. He will reward your devotion with a 50-piece bucket of extra crispy chicken.
