Vegetarians/Vegans: What meat substitute products do you like best for adults and kids?!

None.. I've never wished any. However, my mom, who was pretty worried about me giving up meat, kept cooking some soy for me.. I don't need any substitute, though, never did. Good luck
I am not a vegetarian, and I was always wary of tofu and other "imitation" meats. But now that I'm in college and the dining hall offers many vegetarian options, I can't even tell the difference when the sausage patties are "veggie patties" instead of regular patties. Also, when tofu is seasoned well, like in some Asian-inspired dishes, it tastes just like chicken.
As for particular brand names and places to purchase imitation chicken nuggets, I am uncertain. But if you prepare it right, your 3-year-old won't know the difference.
Just make sure that your growing children get enough protein, vitamins B-12 and D, calcium, zinc, and iron, as these are essential nutrients that vegetarians often lack.
Hope this helped!
Meg
You really shouldn't be feeding your kids a lot of soy products.
From the link:
"Soy products, any soy product, contain a number of chemical compounds that are actually toxic to both humans and animals. They are often called "anti-nutrients". ANti- utrient is merely a word coined by the soy industry to refer to a compound that is bad for you."

so get some vegan chicken nuggets for her! :-) (i think they even sell them at walmart, but there are a few brands on veganessentials.com that you can check out. veganessentials is on the pricy side though, so youd be better off to look at what products theyre selling, then either try to find them at a grocery store near you (remember you can always put in product requests at grocery stores if they dont have what youre looking for!) or Google Shopping the product and sort the results by price lowest-to-highest) thats so awesome that your whole family is transitioning to veganism---your really setting the standard high for everyone! heres another vegan resource for you and you family: http://wayfaringvegans.weebly.com/

The Morningstar chicken nuggets are amazing. You can't even tell the difference between them and real chicken nuggets.
You can buy veggie everything. When I was a kid I used to like it when my mum used veggie mince to make spag bol or lasagna but any sort of cheesey Quorn burger type thing should go down well.
I have been following a mostly Vegan diet for the past 6 months. I recently transitioned my son over to a Vegetarian mostly Vegan diet too. He likes Smart Pups Dogs, Boca Chic'N patties, and Gardein Chic'N nuggets, and Nate's Meatless Meatballs. I find all of these at our local Hannford Grocery Store. Another big hit with him are Tofutti or So Delicious Soy Icecream Sandwiches and other frozen treats. Tofutti Better Than Cream Cheese is another must in my house. Also he actually prefers milk alternatives to the cow's milk he used to drink. Almond Milk is my favorite. For things you used to put burger in try some TVP. There are many different brands of this. I have found the pre-crumbled ones like a brand I get called Litelife work best.
