Arguments for and against vegetarianism/veganism?!

Question: Arguments for and against vegetarianism/veganism?
Answers:

PRO:

*beneficial to the environment. Livestock production is responsible for significant negative influences on biodiversity around the world, as well as vast amounts of greenhouse gas emissions.

*beneficial to human health. Many preventable diseases occurring in developed countries such as diabetes, heart disease and digestive cancers are associated with increased meat consumption. Less meat equals less risk.

*beneficial to animals. By not exploiting them, we are not putting them through the additional suffering some of them must endure in order to wind up next to a mound of peas.

CON:

*human health impacts. There are some issues involving insufficient nutrient intake for some people. There are regions in the world such as desert where inhabitants may not be very healthy living off plant foods alone since there are not enough of them available.

*environmental impacts. Agriculture is responsible for destruction of ecosystems around the world through land use changes, and has negative impacts on aquatic environments through excess nutrients such as fertilisers which enter the systems as runoff during rain (called eutrophication) as well as pesticides, herbicides and fungicides which may all wind up in nearby streams. Unless vegos make efforts to learn where their foods come from, how it is produced, and try and buy locally, it is possible that the environmental benefits of their dietary choices will be reduced by thee influences plus increased greenhouse gas emissions from transporting over long distances.

*convenience. For some people convenience is important, and maintaining ethical principles as a consumer means that sometimes it is hard to find suitable products, particularly when travelling and you are unfamiliar with what is available in a given town.

Being vegan means you are living an ethical, healthy lifestyle every time you sit down to eat. By being vegan/vegetarian you show that you value life and think animals are worth more than a 10 minute meal. Veganism goes beyond vegetarianism to demonstrate the belief that animals are not on this planet to serve humans.

The cons to veganism? It's hard at first. Cons to Vegetarianism? None. It's really easy.

Vegetarian

I'm a vegetarian and I think it's a lot easier to eat healthily as a vegetarian.
I don't believe in the death of animals and it's a lot cheaper to eat as a vegetarian than buy organic meat.
If you have the power to stop eating meat after eating it (like myself) then I believe it's a good lifestyle, so long as you don't eat too much cheese/fatty foods.

Downsides- you cannot eat a lot of 'diet' foods, low cal marshmallows or many sweets such as haribos.

here's one for:
im a vegetarian and i think it's sooo much better. you can get tofu that tastes the same but it's a lot healthier! i think it's horrible how they treat animals and then kill them. go to peta.com. it's just disturbing to eat innocent animals flesh, as an animal lover.

No valid argument against, that I know of

We aren't born that way. That being said eat what makes you feel good. It's a personal decision.

I'm not sure what you are trying to ask. People can eat whatever the hell they want to.

Against: cost
For: Health

I think it's a personal choice.
