How can General Mills claim that their cereal is natural if it is genetically engineered?!

Question: How can General Mills claim that their cereal is natural if it is genetically engineered?
I just saw a ad for Cheerios. I used to loved Cheerios but now I do not eat them because they are genetically engineered. Anyway the ad said their cereals were all natural. I am confused because genetically engineered food is not natural. How can General Mills say their food is natural when clearly genetically engineered food is not natural?

piss is natural

"Natural foods" and "all natural foods" are widely used terms in food labeling and marketing with a variety of definitions, some of which are vague. The term is assumed to imply foods that are minimally processed and do not contain manufactured ingredients, but the lack of standards in some jurisdictions means that the term assures nothing. The term "organic" has similar implications and has an established legal definition in many countries and an international standard. In some places, the term "natural" is defined and enforced. In others, such as the United States, it has no meaning.

You are misinformed.
Genetically engineered food IS as natural as non-modified food.
It's just got better genes.
For example, the modified wheat they use in cheerios is better equipped to deal with wheat viruses and bugs which would eat it if it were not modified. It resists bacterial infection better because of the genes that have been changed.
THAT'S ALL.
It's not like the wheat is radioactive or something stupid like that!!!
God take a biology class or something!

All food is genetically engineered unless you grow it yourself. If you believe that stuff they sell as organic is actually organic then you are kidding yourself. When they say all natural, they mean they don't put any artificial flavors in it. A genetically engineered piece of wheat is still natural.

There isnt a legal standard for the use of the word "natural". It's just an advertising trick to make certain foods appear more "wholesome" to the consumer.
