Have fun looking for a new girlfriend. Seriously, unless your GF is crazy you probably won't be together very long with that attitude. I don't know what vegetarian foods you are eating but most vegetarian foods tend to be fruits, vegetables, grains and legumes and if you aren't eating those foods than you are not at all healthy and probably won't live very long. No humyn beings are carnivores our bodies cannot process meat very well and we couldn't survive on it alone no matter how much the carnists think we can. I think you should study up on vegetarianism, veganism and animal rights if you want to keep your girlfriend. Nobody is going to want to be with a negative persyn all the time who complains about vegetarian food. Trust me I wouldn't stay with someone who was just trashing things all the time and I don't. Saying I didn't like your olive and pineapple loaf is fine (not saying that is an actual dish or that you like or dislike it in real life) but trashing all vegetarian food is not a smart way to stick with someone.

Trust me dude if you want to be with someone a while you need to be compatible with them and if you aren't then you shouldn't be together in misery.

A very easy vegetarian dinner would be spaghetti with marinara sauce, or if she eats dairy with Alfredo sauce

Serves 4 to 6 as a first course
Fresh pasta is the best choice for this dish; supermarkets sell 9-ounce containers of fresh pasta in the refrigerator section (see related article for tasting results). When boiling the pasta, undercook it slightly (even shy of al dente) because the pasta cooks an additional minute or two in the sauce. Note that Fettuccine Alfredo must be served immediately; it does not hold or reheat well.

Ingredients
1 1/2 cups heavy cream
2 tablespoons unsalted butter
Table salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
9 ounces fresh fettuccine
1 1/2 ounces Parmesan cheese , grated (about 3/4 cup)
1/8 teaspoon fresh grated nutmeg

Instructions
1. Bring 4 1/2 quarts water to rolling boil, covered, in large stockpot or Dutch oven. Using ladle or heatproof measuring cup, fill each individual serving bowl with about 1/2 cup boiling water; set bowls aside to warm.

2. While water comes to boil, bring 1 cup heavy cream and butter to simmer in 3- to 4-quart saucepan over medium heat; reduce heat to low and simmer gently until mixture reduces to 2/3 cup, 12 to 15 minutes. Off heat, stir in remaining 1/2 cup cream, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and pepper.

3. Add 1 tablespoon salt and pasta to boiling water; cook pasta until just shy of al dente. Reserve 1/4 cup pasta cooking water, then drain pasta. Meanwhile, return cream mixture to simmer over medium-high heat; reduce heat to low and add pasta, Parmesan, and nutmeg to cream mixture. Cook over low heat, tossing pasta with tongs to combine, until sauce coats pasta and pasta is just al dente and cheese is melted, 1 to 2 minutes. Stir in reserved pasta cooking water; sauce may look rather thin but will gradually thicken as pasta is served and eaten. Working quickly, empty serving bowls of water; divide pasta among bowls, tossing pasta to coat well with sauce. Serve immediately.

Pasta with tomato sauce
Salad
Eggplant parmesan
Homemade pizza
Baked ziti
vegetable antipasto (you basically buy breads, veggies, olives, cheeses, etc- though that may be too expensive)
minestrone soup
breadsticks with olive oil

And a regular dessert, like brownies or cookies

All of these things are vegetarian, generally well-liked, and easy to make. Even my twelve-year-old brother can make pasta and brownies without help.

Unless she's an idiot, she's not expecting a 15 year old boy to be a gourmet chef. Any effort you put into it will be what will make it romantic.
But I hope you're not as much of an @ss in real life as you are on here, or it'll never be romantic. Just throwing that in.

Micki, being romantic is how adolescent girls get all 'oh he really likes/loves me' and then they let the guy sleep with them. At least around here.

What's not romantic is how you're complaining about vegetarian foods and about your girlfriend being vegetarian. If you don't want to cook and eat vegetarian then don't. Nobody wants to hear you call it ******* gross and your gf won't appreciate it either.

Besides the complaints, that's a really nice gesture to fix dinner. I wish my husband would cook once in a while.

firstly---youre not going to keep your girlfriend for very long if you dont respect her beliefs. just because YOU havent had any good vegan food doesnt mean that there arent any out there.

shepards pie sounds awesome, just remember to always read the ingredients of any packaged items you buy (even things like Planters Peanuts have gelatin in them---which is not vegetarian)

heres a link to info on veganism---impress your gf with showing that youre taking an interest in her beliefs! (give you bonus points during dinner :-) )

Just make something that would normally have meat in it, and instead of meat, put something else, like tofu. :D

Or maybe some kind of Indian food, because typically they are vegetarian. and they're typically delicious.

And vegetarian foods aren't gross, cake is an example of a delicious vegetarian food (but that's dessert :o)

what do you mean- fries are gross, burritos are gross? Muffins are gross, pita stuffed with hummous and cream chese os gross, pasta alfredo is gross, cereal is gross , ice cream is gross?

WHy not get over your ridiculous ego and look sanely for some stuff online.

Here is a link to cheap vegetarian Indian meals- that way it'll be special- a lot of Indian ingredients are super cheap.

What would be really cool is a black bean salsa and organic cheese quesadilla cut into the shape of a heart. Now trying to be romantic at 15 seems a bit weird to me after all isn't the only reason why your making dinner for her is that your trying to get laid? Go do your homework instead.

first off your swearing is uncalled for ! it shows a lack of vocalbuary ! and you sound like a "great" boy friend !

you may think thet veggie food is rubish but you clould not be so wrong also meat would cost you more that veggies i agree sheperd pie is not the most romanic meal you clould have come upwith

find out what SHE likes and make that for her that will show her that you love her !

kind regards
alex

It sounds fine, and you're being too bitchy about this. If you love her, you'd accept her for who she is and support that she's a vegetarian. There's also plenty of vegetarian dishes that you'll even like, so I don't know why you're saying "gross".

Just order a vegetarian pizza if you don't know how to cook.

Just break up with her if your going to be a jerk about her diet.
Its not that hard to make a meal with out meat, idiot.

Try something simpler like french fries, veggie burgers and a salad.
