Are vegans and vegetarians part of a separate cause?!
Answers:
Vegans like myself-do it totally for the animals because they deserve respect and to live thier life how they want.
Vegetarians don't have the same beliefs as a vegan does.
well neither has to be part of a cause per se, but veganism is closely tied to the animal rights movement. In fact it is hard to be taken seriously as an animal rights activist if you are not vegan, simply because you are not doing all you CAN do if you are still supporting the egg and dairy industries. I do not assume people are part of a cause if they tell me they are vegetarian, but most of the vegans I meet are active in the animal rights and/or environmental movements. But that may just be a reflection on myself as I am active in these movements and work at a university where I meet lots of people who are also into these causes.

You can politicize it if you want, but the difference is merely how strictly one construes the two, with the vegan generally being the more strict.
Vegetarians may or may not eat dairy products and eggs--things that do not require the actual killing of animals.
Vegans eschew eating of any type of animal product at all, including dairy and eggs, and often extend the ban to any type of animal product, such as leather shoes. Vegans also TEND to be more concerned with the ethics of using animals as "products."
These are generalities, and there are all kinds of eating habits and "beliefs" on the continuum between carnivores and vegans (and even more extreme approaches, such as "fruitarians" who don't kill plants in order to eat them).
What are you talking about? Vegetarians don't eat meat or slaughter by-products, and most don't wear or use animal products. Vegans don't eat, wear, or use anything that came from animals at all. There's different reasons to go vegan or vegetarian but they're not separate causes. That doesn't even make sense.
vegan :D
Yes, it's the same cause.
I hate the meat dairy and egg industries, but I wouldn't say it has to do with politics. Vegans and vegetarians both have problems with the way animals are being treated.
If you don't care about the treatment of animals, you're just on a diet.

It's not a matter of politics with me; I just don't like the idiots who stomp, bludgeon, and torture defenseless chickens, cows, pigs and other other animals.
Individuals have their own reasons for becoming vegan or vegetarian. I don't think you can say one is more political than the other.
