Why do you eat that way?!

Question: Why do you eat that way?
No matter what you eat tell me why you eat vegan/vegetarian/ or whatever. Tell me why you choose to eat meat. Be specific and give details about why you eat what you eat. Like I'm a vegan/vegetarian/meateater/carnivore/lac… because__________......
Convince me that your way is the right way!

Answers:

I'm vegan because animal production is unsustainable. Even the United Nations says so. And you can read the blogs that some people think vegans don't want you to read (in truth nobody cares because they are just blogs and are utterly meaningless) or you can read the scientific information produced by unbiased organisations like the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation or the UN Environment Program and see what the world's top biologists have to say about it.

Achim Steiner, UN Under-Secretary General and Executive Director of the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), which hosts the International Panel for Sustainable Resource Management, said: "The Panel have reviewed all the available science and conclude that two broad areas are currently having a disproportionately high impact on people and the planet's life support systems-these are energy in the form of fossil fuels and agriculture, especially the raising of livestock for meat and dairy products," he said.

I eat whatever tastes delicious, so I am an omnivore. I believe that meat, eggs, and dairy taste ******* delicious.

No I am NOT going to attempt to convince you that my way is the "right way", because it may not be so for you. Omnivorism is "right" for me so that is the way I have chosen for myself, and I would never presume to choose what way should be "right" for anyone else.

I am vegan because killing an animal for our pleasure is wrong. Studies have shown that vegans live a longer and healthier life (ESPECIALLY they have better hearts...cholestorol is only found in animal products). I am also a vegan because meat is not necessary to survive, obviuosly, since I am typing this right now. Contradictory to what most people think, humans are not naturally omnivores. Sure we have canine teeth, but have you ever seen a lions teeth? not even comparable. If we were natually meat eaters, we would be able to go out and hunt a animal with our bare hands (guns aren't apart of nature, since we're talking about whats "natural" here) and then eat it raw. When's the last time you saw a tiger cooking his steak? Maybe in the past we were naturally carnivorous, but now a days, it's just not necessary to survive. Think about it this way: If you were to turn on the news one night and see a report on how a man was killing cats for pure pleasure, you would be horrified, right? I mean, who kills animals just because they like to? Well...you're supporting the killing of animals every time you eat meat. When you eat meat, it's not because it is a necessity that you would die without (I haven't had meat in 4 years, i'm still breathing), it's because it is pleasureable for you to eat. Not much different from a man killing a cat for pleasure huh? Think about it.

I'm a light meat eater (almost exclusively fish and poultry), having been a vegan for a few years. I can't say exactly why. But I do think beef and pork are very unhealthy and damaging to the environment as well. Most of how I eat has something to do with my health, and beef and pork are the WORST.

You should choose the way you want to eat. Listen to your body.
I'm an omnivore. I tried being vegan and vegetarian, but my body didn't take it too well so I switched back. I'm all for animal rights, but my body tells me I need meat, so I'm gonna eat it.

I also am an omnivore because this is natural for humans. Our ancestors were carnivores, just as cats and dogs used to be millions of years ago. Our bodies have adapted to be able to get nutrients from plants, but eating this alone is not healthy.

Why does anybody have to convince you of anything? I'm vegan because I believe that's the right way to live for ME. I'm not going to try to convince you or anybody else to become vegan.

i eat every type of food from the food pyramid, that includes meat, dairy, vegetables, fruits and bread, rice, ect

I'm vegan because I disagree with the what the meat, dairy, and egg industries are doing- so I refuse to consume their products. It's a boycott of sorts :)

I'm an omnivore as nature intended. I eat a balanced diet that includes grains, produce, meat, legumes, and dairy. I don't deprive my body of any of the major food groups. I know that meat is very healthy, as it is loaded with many vitamins and nutrients, including high-quality protein with all the essential amino acids in the ideal balance, iron, and vitamin B12 which is not found naturally in vegan diets.
