Is there a quick and easy way to drain water from firm tofu?!

Question: Is there a quick and easy way to drain water from firm tofu?
without the birth pains? I just want the baby. ( ^ _ ^ )

Edit:

Can't I just pick it up in my hands and squeeze the water out of it like a sponge? I mean it is firm, so I should be able to do that? Or not? ( o _ 0 )

I cut the block into two or three slabs, then lay them on a piece of folded towel paper on a plastic cutting board. Then I put another folded towel paper on top of it and another plastic cutting board, then a bowl of water.

I'm hard case about this. ∠°).

if you but it in those nasty white tubs, and it's bathed in water, just drain it.

Tofu needs to be stored in water to keep it fresh, so anything left over- fill the tub iwth fresh water.

You can squeeze the water out, but it may break up.

TO make baked tofu- they place weights on the soybean curd when it's being pressed together and it ends up very dense and chewy- that's how come- because all the water is pressed out.
You can place a flat surface ( chopping board) on it, and weigh it down with books, then leave to drain.

If it's already firm tofu, it will most likely break up with your squeezing.
Next time, if you want really dense thich chewy tofu, get baked tofu ( from an Asian market)

You can wrap tofu in a clean tea towel and squeeze the water out. Paper towels
may break, and you'll also likely get paper fibers in your tofu.

The firmer a tofu is, the less water it has. The softer a tofu is, the more water it has.

I take the tofu and cube it. Then I place a dish towel on a dinner plate. On top of that I place a paper towel. Then I put the tofu on the paper towel and fold over the paper and dish towel. On top of that I place another dinner plate. Then I push. Alternatively you could place a lot of weight on the second plate and let it go for a few minutes.

This is a great recipe to make your own tofu at home (yes! it can be done), hopefully it will help.

I usually just cut open the package, drain the water, and then take the tofu out and set on a sheet or two of paper towels for about five minutes.

I drain it and then push on it a little to get out that liquid and then pat it with paper towels.

I would put it on a paper towel and let it absorb the extra water
