It can be if you buy a lot of processed, pre-made things like faux meat and non-dairy cheese. But if you stick to the main food groups (legumes, whole grains, nuts, fruits and vegetabes, etc) it actually can be quite inexpensive, and much healthier for you than buying and eating processed foods. You can buy things like beans, lentils, rice and barley in bulk and save a lot of money, and fruits and vegetables tend to be relatively cheap.
Hope I helped! :)
If you can cook and save leftovers, if you can live on beans and rice, no. If you eat out and eat a healthy diet, yes, it's expensive.
Lots of things to watch. Pasta is fairly cheap, but if you eat a lot of those you'll likely gain weight. Fake meat (soy) products are expensive and too much soy can be harmful to your health. Replacing meat with a salad will not keep you healthy. Meat is a nutrient rich food; a generic green salad is not. And be sure you take your supplements. They're not cheap either. Vitamin B12 is not found in any plant food. Here's a list of supplements the veganRD, Ginny Messina recommends:

A bag of beans is only about $1.50 and you can do so much with beans. Whole grain spaghetti, macaroni are cheap also. You can make big meals for the week and freeze them. It all depends on how much work you're willing to put into it. There are lots of vegan recipes online that you can use. Yesterday I made a huge pot of pea soup that will last me a few days. All of the ingredients cost about $3.00. You can also make your own hummus.
Kinda is, i would say your health then being cheap at mcdonalds but looks like you cant, just make smart choices like at restaurants with fruits and less soda , no salt, umm you can get some really good subway im pretty sure their somewhat healthy and cheap, BUT HEY it beats the other restaurants :p
It depends on what you're buying. If you buy a lot of processed foods like vegan cheese, fake meats, etc, it will get costly. If you buy mostly fruits & vegetables along with grains, beans and nuts, condiments & spices, etc. Shouldn't be too much. =)
Only if you are relying on processed foods: not healthy no matter if you are omnivore, veggie or vegan. Fruits, vegetables, are cheaper than meat and other animal products. You can buy grains like rice and quinoa in bulk. Beans are cheap! You can do it!!!!
If you buy natural foods, such as fruits, vegetables, nuts, grains, and legumes, its cheap. If you buy processed foods like fake meats, those cost more.
vegan :D
