What do you think is the best vegan beer?!

Question: What do you think is the best vegan beer?
I'm a new vegan and have already committed to attending a party, I plan on bringing my own beer because I know there are vegan beer options out there but I don't have any idea where to start. I previously drank beers like Bud Light, any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance! :)

Bud Light is vegan friendly.

My favorite is Propeller Hefeweizen.

Actually, Bud Light and anything that is not ale should be fine, since they don't use the same kind of filtering.

From Wiki:

"Beer contains malt from barley, water, hops and yeast, as such the majority of beer is made without animal products, and is acceptable to those vegans and vegetarians who do not abstain from alcoholic beverages; however, some breweries - such as British cask ale producers - may use animal products in the filtering process."

"Most beer is filtered without the need for animal products, and so remains vegetarian; however British cask ale producers don't filter the beer at the end of the production process. When beer is left unfiltered, the yeast that fermented the wort, and turned the sugar in the barley into alcohol, remains in suspension in the liquid. The yeast that remains suspended in the beer creates a cloudy appearance, and can have a yeasty flavour. Finings are used to clear the beer of yeast – there are a variety of agents used as finings, including silicon dioxide, gelatin, polyclar, and isinglass.

Isinglass is the most common fining used to clear cask ale. Isinglass is produced from the swim bladders of fish, usually sturgeon, though also those in the polynemidae, sciaenidae and siluridae families; as it is an animal product, cask ale cleared with isinglass is not considered vegetarian.

There are vegetarian alternatives to isinglass. Bentonite and Irish moss are the two most common."

Corona Lite is "Truly" vegan.

For all before me here is reality...
In the beer making process, dairy, honey, and other things are ingredients that are in the product that you will drink.

Some common filtrants are isinglass (from fish bladder,) gelatin, egg whites, and sea shells, among other things. The purpose of these ingredients are to catch the impurities so they can easily be caught in the filters. There are better options for vegans out there and they are cheaper so they are commonly used but not by all.

Amstel-All of them
Blue Moon (not the honey beers obviously)
Regular Coors and Coors light
Corona (all)
Dos Equis
Heineken
Mike's Hard Lemonade
Pabst (PBR)
Rolling Rock
Yuengling

Not all Bud is Vegan but here are the ones that are:
Bud Light
Regular Bud
Michelob (not the honey ones)
Natural Light

There are several online resources for research or you can ask the company yourself if you want. By emailing them from the company's website. So for all of you who think your Beer is Vegan... think again!

There are MANY other boozy items that aren't Vegan...
Your Favorite wines are also usually processed using Casein, egg whites, gelatin and fish products.
How about Liquor? MOST Liquors are safe but not all... Martin and Rossi uses Gelatin in the process for example. Your Jack and Coke is safe though!

Hope this helped!

lmfao! no such thing dear.. learn about processing and get over yourself.

and folks... once you understand the process of fermentation.. and commercial processing of alcohol (or any product) you'll see why.. making the VEGAN claim is a FRAUD.

what next? processed wine will be vegan? oh, fuel will be?
wait! burger king? LMFAO!

this is why i can't take veganism seriously, it's impossible to be one in this society.. people do not do their research.. but they'll listen to corporations and their false claims..

wait.. i betcha bud lite is also organic.. LMFAO! what next? it'll prevent cancer so buy the pink label kind?

ok, enough already.. this is just narcissistic bunk.. by someone who wants to have a label and be important... bye bye 'vegan' party goer who just wants to crash a party with her 'morals'...

folks, you can't be a vegan in a processed food society!.... (raw vegetarian.. 43 yrs.. makes my own wine and beer.. thank you processed food vegan pretendo wannbee.. have a nice life!)

Try a German Weize beer made with a wheat base, something unfiltered with the yeast still in it, here in Canada we have many, even a Hemp based beer, and for those who will say beer is filtered through animal product, now a days because production is so rapid any filtering is done with cloth filters made from cotton, no gelatin, isinglass, most are cold filtered, European beers are best German are the purest because of the "Reine Hiez Begetz" a 400 year old German beer brewing purity law, as chef I drank my share all over the world from Canad were I am from and live, to Europe, Asia and the Caribbean, if you are into dark beers stouts like Guinness are vegan

Sierra Nevada--you will probably like their Old Chico if you like light beers, if you can get it where you live. They use all high-quality all-natural ingredients, no animal products, are environmentally friendly, AND everyone will think you are a super classy beer connoisseur.

@ DOT--no booze huh? NOW I understand everything. That would make me a miserable, hateful human being too.

Bud light is vegan: http://www.barnivore.com/beer/3/Anheuser…

Here is a list of vegan beer otherwise: http://www.barnivore.com/beer

Shiner Bock or Heineken.

Vegan who loves beer

all beers are vegan, and besides what is the problem if they use some fish bladder filter or anything, the animal is already dead, we are just using a natural filter for the beer, why some vegans have to be so extreme, Beer is vegan period no matter what they use to filter it

common sense

...Most beer is made from grind up beef so you shouldn't drink it sorry!!!!

All beer is vegan.
