Excessive fat, and oils causes acne. Veggies are not fattening.
Well seeing as theres much more vitamins/antioxidants/anticarcigens/wate… etc etc in your diet from the consumption of high amounts of plant matter, it makes perfect sense that your skin naturally would start to become more vibrant.
Its why i'd be willing to bet that pregnant women have that ''vibrant healthy'' look, its where they start watching what they eat though i'd say hormones could play some part
You're probably not eating the sugars and such. Anytime you go on a healthy eating diet, your whole body, including your skin, will get better. Your body does detox when you start eating healthier. I don't need studies to know about detox. I know it works. I went through it, and everyone I know that eats healthy diets have went through it and became healthier.
Fruits and Vegetables contain many nutrients that are beneficial to your skin, although there is no scientific evidence that I know of that prove vegetarians have better skin. It makes sense though that if all the saturated fats are taken out of your diet then your skin will start to show it. I am vegetarian and my skin rarely has break outs where as I used to have break outs all of the time.
I think it's because this diet has no animal fat in it and/or a lower fat diet altogether. An increase in healthy fiber and vitamins makes nicer skin too.

slaps head.. folks.. if you cut processed crap out of your diet.. of course your body is going to detox.
that simple.
raw vegetarian.. 43 yrs.
there's no such research. Only a few personal experiences. People who don't clear up usually won't mention that.
You need to understand that the majority of actual research done on vegetarians in the US has been done on members of the 7th Day Adventist Church. Vegetarianism is a religious principle of the church. They promote and recommend a vegetarian diet. They are the only large, long term, vegetarian group in the US so the very best resource for vegetarian research. But their lifestyle is not typical, so the effects of their diet cannot be expected to mean much as compared to the rest of the country. Mormons have similar health and longevity to Adventist and they eat meat.
Loma Linda University, home of the ADA, is an Adventist university. Their big nutrition research center is, of course, aimed at proving that vegetarianism is a perfect lifstyle because their scripture says so.
