If plants dont feel pain and cant think and its ok to kill them, does that apply to the braindead too?!

Question: If plants dont feel pain and cant think and its ok to kill them, does that apply to the braindead too?
Oh you vegetarians, so clever...

Answers:

A person who still has their brain- it's a heated topic.
PErsonally I don't know if you can accurately say that person has no feelings. Many people can't respod but do feel pain and can hear etc.

Locked In syndrome, can you imagine? To be awake and aware and have the world think you are brain dead.
I couldn't pul the plug on someone, but I've never been in that position.

I would HATE to be in that position.

It's ok to take the respitory machine off a braindead person if the family agrees to it and if they said it would be ok (before they became braindead of course) brain dead people are HUMAN BEINGS! I can under stand why you would compare killing a plant and an animal but seriously? Come on killing a human and killing a plant are not on the same level. Plants don't have familys. I don't know anyone that formed a bond with a plant but brain dead people have family members and friends from before becoming braindead. If you kill them it will be very hard on the family but if you kill a plant...no one cares. You can look at a dead person and remember the personality they had and your memories together but you can not do this with a plant (assuming the plant was normal and didn't have a personality or ever do anything other than stay there)

First thing's first: they do NOT have a nervous system. No nervous system, no pain

2nd. They are not being KILLED they're being harvested. Harvesting is picking an apple from a tree. Killing is cutting down the whole tree

3rd. They are harvested when they are on the brink of falling off the tree/vine/stalk/what have ya for a growing body.

If you consider the braindead to be food, then yes it would be the same for both. I don't know why anyone would eat a member of the same species though. Animal meat is high in fat and unhealthy, plants are the opposite.

P.S. Ru Paul makes me cringe.

Pushy/interesting question lol. I think it all depends on why you are killing them, and that would apply to both, don't think there is one right answer.

hey, my 16 yr old son started being a vegetarian 2 wks ago. I support him. I still eat meat but am trying new recipes.

The braindead, like yourself, can feel pain. They just can't show it.

no, generally cannibalism is frowned on.

No it doesn't, so you are safe for now.

if it does...you may be in trouble
