Question: Was this alright to eat today?
This is a list of things i ate today. Did I eat too much, too little, or just the right amount of food today?
Do you think I could have another cup of oatmeal with 1/2 cup plain almond milk?

BREAKFAST:
Oatmeal
? cup almond milk
1 walnut
1 almond
? brazil nut
? tsp flaxseed

LUNCH:
1 veggie hotdog
Fresh spinach
4 carrots
3 quail eggs boiled

SNACK:
4 strawberries

DINNER:
2 servings veggie chicken
Fresh spinach
Some fresh mushroom
5 grape tomatoes

SNACK:
4 strawberries

Answers:

I'd really try to start incorporating less fake proteins in your diet. Legumes, beans and such are great sources of protein. You can easily make your own veggie burgers. I would say that you don't have enough vegetables in your day. It looks like you've only had about 3 servings (I don't know how much spinach you had). So could up your vegetable intake by a LOT. Add some fruit to your breakfast. Dried or fresh. Learn what a serving of fruits and vegetables is that way you aren't short changing yourself. It's not bad overall. Yes, you could add oatmeal if you wanted but you could also do an apple and some peanut butter or almond butter. Protein and green veggies keep you fuller longer so I'd recommend fruit and protein before bed.

Understand I think you have a good base. This is how I would tweak it to make it even better.



To answer this question accurately, one would need to know you weight, height, metabolism, etc, etc.

The best way to know is not from charts, numbers, calories, other people, etc. The best way to know is to notice how you feel after you've eaten a certain amount of food. You'll start to get a sense of how much food will leave you feeling hungry in 30 minutes, versus feeling totally full or feeling like it would be nice to eat more because it tastes nice, but you know that it isn't necessary because you'll forget about it shortly.

Myself, I eat a lot of food, but I also am a 6'2, 200lb man who gets a fair amount of exercise every day. I burn all the calories that come in. If I ate only what was on your list, I would be very skinny and gaunt looking. One can not accurately answer your question without knowing more about you.



Usually when people ask this question they are eating too little. I'm glad to see some one understands they need to eat lots of fruits and veggies.
