Meat consumption in the UK?!


Question: Meat consumption in the UK?
Need a few facts and statistics about how much meat is consumed in the UK..
How much of it is organic/free range and how much is manufactured/not organic :L
any statistics or facts would be much appreciated :D

In 2002, meat consumption in the UK was 79.6 kilograms per person.

Try looking for some government documents that have to be made available, the agriculture will have it.
Far as i'm aware EU law & europe in general do not practice injecting hormones etc into feed to bulk the animal up, as for free range its in the minority by a long shot. There is a document (recent enough) on the banning of caged hen systems coming into effect in the EU by 2012 alongside the animal tested products, however enriched cages are being replaced & are still a pretty poor ethical choice.

I certainly don't know. I would google it. I'm quite positive vegans/vegetarians wouldn't know. They don't like meat, don't eat meat, and don't want anything to do with meat.



I don't have the facts myself, but I'm sure if you google it, the answer will be there somewhere.
