USMC and Vegetarianism?!

Question: USMC and Vegetarianism?
Soon I will be enlisting in the USMC, and I am completely aware that I have to stop being a vegetarian for my time in boot. As much as it pains me to do so, I know that overall I will perform better, and get the nutrients I need. I know that they REALLY work you in boot, that's why I know I won't be able to make it by from the salad bar I keep hearing about that is in the chow hall.
My problem is, I don't know how to mentally prepare myself to eat meat again. It's something I have to do right away. And I also don't know how to start actually incorporating meat again. Advice?

lol vegeterian mre's. although all mre's suck.

My brother is in the marine corps :)

There was a guy in there with him who was vegetarian. My brother said he had to eat some gross stuff as far as the packaged food was concerned, but it was all pretty gross.

Anyway, the veg graduated with the best of them :)

wait. why can't you continue to be veg? can you have oatmeal for breakfast or do they make you eat sausage and bacon and stuff? how about peanut butter sandwiches, lots and lots of veggies and pasta/breads. meat is not nutrients. meat is just fat and protein. i'm assuming eat dairy? can you eat eggs, yogurt and cheese? there's no way eating dirty *** meat can help you in boot camp. it will screw up your digestion.

I am, and was, vegetarian all through basic training. There are plenty of options, including vegetarian MREs. If your drill instructor gives you grief about it, say you're veg for religious reasons. They'll definitely comply.

Why the hell would you want to join the USMC?

The USMC is for the unintelligent.
