Is there any harm in eating way too many carrots?!

Question: Is there any harm in eating way too many carrots?
I ate a 2 lb bag of baby carrots in 4-5 days to myself. Interestingly enough, I started doing a little research because it's all I wanted to eat for days....

I just quit smoking cigarettes a week ago, and I started reading about all these people that quit smoking and got addicted to carrots..

Did I eat too many carrots? Also I want to go buy more, but there is a ton of vitamin A in a small serving of carrots which is good for you, but too much of anything can be a bad thing, right?

Stopping smoking is a pretty simple thing to do... in principle. Maybe because of it sounding so easy it catches people off guard and ultimately makes it much more difficult to quit.

There are a lot of products out there that can help you to stop smoking. Which is best for you depends on many factors and ultimately the only person that knows which is best for you is you.

The best thing to do when you are looking to stop smoking is to find out what options you have, and then decide which sounds best for you.

Here's a website that lists the different things that are out there to help you stop smoking.

Congratulations on quitting smoking! Fortunately, you have substituted a very healthy habit as eating carrots will give you lots of carotenes, not just beta carotene. Eating 2 lbs of baby carrots in 4 or 5 days is definitely not too many carrots. It's not even a lot compared to people who juice carrots and drink at least 8 oz of carrot juice a day. BTW, the vitamin A in carrots is beta carotene, not preformed vitamin A as in animal products. Thus, your body will only make the amount of vitamin A you need from carrots and not a bit more.

Some people turn slightly orange if they consume a lot of carrots, but that's actually healthy: http://www.diseaseproof.com/archives/hea…

I have an M.S. in nutrition.

Eating carrots are a lot better than eating other things, but too much of anything, even a good thing, is bad. You don't want to eat to the point of making yourself sick. Also, you can overdose from too much Vitamin D. In order to do this, you would have to eat a lot, and I mean A LOT, of carrots. So yeah, you're alright. Just make sure you eat other things, too. You need protein and other nutrients. I hope this helps :)

Yes, too much of anything is not good. It is best if you balance your diet. I have heard of stories of people eating too much carrots turning "orange". However, eating a couple of carrots a day will do you good since it contains not only carotene but other vitamins too. Also, it is an anti-oxidant and can help prevent cancers. You aren't eating too many carrots! I juice about 3-4 large carrots at least every other day (along with other veggies and fruits). I feel fantastic and am very healthy.

I don't know if its true but I once read in a story about a doctor how someone who ate a lot of carrots over a length of time and their skin turned yellow.
