Question: How can I help ban the import of cat and dog fur?

I was at a social justice seminar the other day and I learned that there is an organization attempting to ban the import of items containing cat and dog fur into Canada. I want to help this cause, but I must have dropped the brochure I got from them on my way out. I can't remember the name of the organization. Can anyone help me with this? I believe they were also arguing that there is a chemical they use to treat the fur that is poisonous to humans and animals and therefore dangerous. Thanks.

boycott ALL leather, fur, feathers, and wool. using animals (regardless of the species) for fashion is ridiculously selfish and wrong. let other people know how you feel, let the stores who sell these products know how you feel. stores only sell what they know people will buy---we need to get the majority of shoppers/consumers to commit to not buying products that cause animals to be exploited and/or killed. supply and demand, we need to eliminate the demand. http://wayfaringvegans.weebly.com/

I think the most important thing is to not buy leather and fur yourself.

Then help spread the word that fur is NOT necessary with all the alternatives available to us. Fur and leather are not just a byproduct of the meat industry. Animals are sometimes farmed and slaughtered just for their skin and the rest is discarded. Some of those animals are dogs (not that it matters much).

Don't ever buy any fur at all?
