Minecraft Texture Pack Problem?!

So, I downloaded a few texture packs a few days back but now i've decided to stick with the original texture. Im aware of how to change packs as well as do it manually, but when I press the "Mod/Texture Pack" option, the screen just goes black and I have to shut down Minecraft. What should I do?
