How do Vegans keep testosterone up?!
I've been thinking of trying this for a long time because of energy issues. A couple of years ago I tried eating just vegatables for a couple of weeks and found an energy boost and slept better.
Now I need to try it again.
Actually, its more of an "elimination diet" because I am convinced that my metabolism is not as it should be and digestion is generally poor.
I feel foggy and don't sleep too well. Even though I exercise quite a bit, I am convinced diet has something to do with my condition. Perhaps lactose, gluten etc etc??????
Thanks,,

TO be honest, you sound prime candidate for an awakening. Try a raw food diet, I cannot tell you how MUCH BETTER I FELT>
I slept great, felt AMAZING when waking up, so full of clam clean energy.
Never hungry.
Soak beans, and legumes for days, I go seven days soaking, for lentils ( complete protein), fava beans, chickpeas etc.
Avocado, banana, coconut, sesame seeds, potatoes beets, all raw, SO much nutrition.
Drink hot tea and stuff to get somethin hot inside you.
Energy is 100% improved eating raw. Make sure you get the right aount of fats though= peanuts, almonds, walnuts and all the oils associated with them.
Raw sprouted bread is amazing, with raw butter and fruit jam.
I'd really up your plant fat intake- and eat raw for a while.
Your body produces testosterone on its own, you don't get it from food. The only nutrient a vegan might have problem getting for tetsosterone production is zinc, which is in several types of beans, nuts, seeds, soy products, and grains. Things like lima beans, pine nuts, chickpeas, pumpkin seeds, etc, are good sources.
While on a vegan diet, you should take a B12 supplement.
You do have to get b12, but no one dies from it. It can make you tired and mess with your memory though, which is pretty bad.
You may absorb the vitamin better from a breakfast cereal high in b12 rather than a pill. I know some doctors are skeptical about how well vitamin supplements work.
I don't know, but in response to the person talking about going on a raw food diet: Everyone who goes on that needs to take a B12 supplement, or you can get really sick. I think it can even be fatal.
You just need to eat enough protein (which isn't hard). Exercising also helps(anyone).
I'm not a vegetarian but I take zinc supplements, and I've found those do the trick.
Ex-vegetarian with no bitterness or remorse.
Foods that contain a lot of zinc can help boost testosterone. Try beans, nuts and whole grains.

most likely by taking vitamins and supplements alone with your meal .
