Why do juicers leave so much waste?!

That is why in addition to juicing I make a lot of smoothies with a blender. Smoothies have all of the fruit in them, pulp included. Here is what you need to make a delicious, nutritious and easy smoothie: a blender, your favorite fruits, ice and some fruit juice. It is that simple. Since you will be chopping up ice you should use a blender that has at least 350 watts of power. The higher the blender’s watts, the more powerful the blender will be.
Here is a simple smoothie recipe that is a favorite:
■2 bananas
■1 peach
■1 quarter of pineapple
■1/2 glass of ice
■a few ounces of apple or orange juice
Simply put all the ingredients into the blender and hit the blend button. Voila, great tasting smoothies! Experiment with different fruit combinations of blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, apples, watermelon, lemon, lime, mango or papaya. The variations are endless and delicious.

You can start a compost pile, and before not too long you'll have prime soil to use in plant pots or in a garden. Read up on composting if this appeals to you. It ultimately won't go to waste unless it's burned; some organism will chow down on it in the garbage pile, or it will provide nutrients to the soil wherever it ends up.
Yes, there is a LOT of pulp left behind! However, it wouldn't be wasted if you used it...
Look what I found for you!

So glad you asked (I rarely use my juicer and this is inspiring).

The fiber is the best part of food, so juicing, in my opinion, should be saved for rare occasions, for juicing those items you just can't stand eating (like beets-yeech!), or for detox days.
You did, in fact, waste good food. Nice observation and lesson learned.
Because that's the stuff you're supposed to be eating. Essential fiber, vitamins & minerals all got tossed into the bin.
Juicing is a waste of time and resources. All you're left with is the sugar from the vegetables.
Katydint already provided you with some great recipes, so I'll offer the other solution: compost it.
I don't have a juicer, but is it possible to eat the stuff left over?
