Read the labels of any processed food you buy, I am not vegan, so will eat eggs and dairy, but I really am more concerned with chemical additives.
It is mostly just processed foods. Some types of soft serve ice cream have the derivatives of animal fat in them. Many processed fried foods are cooked in animal fat (sometimes referred to as tallow) before they are frozen, chips are a common example but its good to see these days a few brands are using canola or sunflower oil instead of the fat of dead animals. Some other ingredients to watch out for are glycerine or glycerol, which can be either plant or animal and you have to check with the manufacturer to find out if it is suitable.
SOup in cans, processed frozen foods ( beef fat), baked beans, packaged meals, like dried food you add water to- processed foods witha long shelf life.
