Is buckwheat safe if am wheat + gluten free ?!

Question: Is buckwheat safe if am wheat + gluten free ?
Am coeliac and allergic to wheat but is it safe to eat buckwheat?? Or am I just dum?? I just bought some gluten free cereal and read the lable (made from buckwheat)

Answers:

No, of course your not dumb! Buckwheat is not wheat, so it does not contain any gluten, so it's perfectly safe for you too eat. Just be careful, and make sure your "buckwheat" products are actually 100% buckwheat by checking labels, because some products (like certain brands of soba noodles) are made with wheat.

"Pure buckwheat (that has not been contaminated) is gluten and wheat free."
