Many cheeses and some yogurts are made with rennet, which comes from the stomach lining of animals, usually a cow. Rennet is a slaughter byproduct and not usually considered suitable for vegetarians..

I have never heard of anchovies in sweet and sour sauce, but they are in Cesar salad dressing. Sweet and sour is usually vinegar, sugar, some sort of fruit juice, corn starch.

Most-not all- sour cream brands use gelatin

Pie crusts MAY use lard (depending on manufacturer, bakery, restaurant, etc)

Almost every restaurant that makes meat and vegetarian dishes will use the same grill, fryer, etc to prepare both foods. Some vegetarians are very squicky about eating their food that has been prepared on same cooking surface as meat. If you are going to be one of the very pure vegetarians, this will severely limit your dining out choices.

There are lots of things that have hidden animal ingredients. Many different types of candy have gelatin. for example many of those brands of conversation hearts that we see at Valentines day contain gelatin. You really just have to read the labels. Carmine is an ingredient added as a red dye to some foods. This comes from crushed up beetles or bugs So that is definitely not vegetarian.

Planter's Roasted Peanuts. (I know right?) They contain gelatin.
Worschester Sauce has anchoives.
Cheese has rennet (its taken from the inside of a calves stomach)

Silly rabbit. Vegetables are for kids.
