yes.



Yes . Its upper brain stem reflex. In the 1940's a farmer axed the neck of a chicken way too close to the head, and the chicken didn't die. It still went around hours later. They called it a miracle (rare in Nebraska) and fed it with a dropper in the esophagus. People came and called it a miracle proving God's promise of eternal life. The farmer packed up and went to LA, where everybody seems to believe anything. He started a church which came to be called The Church Of The Headless Chicken. I wish could say it was a joke, but it lasted for several years. The chicken died, finally, and they stuffed him and went on for several more years. There is nothing too crazy to believed.



Usually it's only for a couple seconds, never longer than a minute. The bird is uncouciouse it's only a nerve reaction. Like the other answer said, one chicken did go on to live headless, I think for 6 months or so.
