If they want. I just throw my kitchen scraps into a compost bin, if there are worms in there they found their own way. But I don't use the compost, it is merely there to feed the invertebrates which returns the nutrients in food scraps to a more diverse ecosystem than if they are in a plastic bag at the bottom of a rubbish tip where the only things which may get at them are bacteria and perhaps some very determined rodents.

A worm farm is very useful if you have a couple of large dogs, it helps break down their waste. Works for human waste as well.

I'm not vegan im lacto ovo but i compost . i never needed worms just a plastic compost bin . we have to BUY worms where i live there are so few , ive never even seen one when digging . SO , this summer , when i plant my garden if i see one, ill FEED it compost lol.

The worms are kept in a warm sage environment, it's silly even for a vegan to find that cruel.

THATS a very good question!

Why wouldn't they, its the best method
