Look for free range, organic, or non-CAFO (Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations) wherever possible. Grass fed beef or bison (buffalo) are good alternatives as well. It is better for you and the environment because those operations don't use chemicals or hormones and are managed as sustainable agriculture.

You will pay more, but you get better nutrition from grass fed beef.

Yes people actually do that stuff and no it's not hard to find. Many supermarkets already carry "free range" and/or organic products nowadays.
Also a simple Google or Yahoo search for such farms within your area should produce results.
On Yahoo try the key words "free range farms in (you area/state)"

You do know that most "free-range" places are nothing like what you saw on the RSPCA, especially since the RSPCA is in the UK. In the U.S. "free-range" and "cage-free" means nothing. It just means the animals are shoved into dirty, dark sheds all day and can have 5 minutes of access to the outdoors.

Yes That is why we hunt, true free range from the field to the table check out this wonderful meal at Squirrel Florentine Recipes gMarie Cooking

Some groceries stores carry free range meat, but from what I understand, it's a little more expensive.

I'd like to. One of the things I'd like to do before I die is eat an honest grass-fed steak before. I hear they're really good, and I can feel really good about it. But that kind of meat is harder to find, and it's pretty expensive.

You know, if you find that hard to do, one thing you can do is buy free-range eggs. The chickens for those aren't kept in cages, basically accomplishing for your egg source what you're thinking of for your meat. It's a start, in any case. (I used to do free-range eggs until I had kids who were going through a half dozen eggs in a weekend.)

if i kill you now or i wait till your 45 years old and kill you then are you gonna be any less mad? ...or is your family gonna be any less upset? ....well think of how the animals feel..

if your gonna eat meat then eat meat... if you don't like the killing of animals for food then don't eat meat at all because killing them is the only way =)

No . why cant you be a vegetarian , against your religion .? I buy cage free eggs , thats it .

but let me get this straight , youre coming into the veg section and asking US if we eat free range meat ?
