Can too many herbs/spices cause rashes etc?!
Basically one of two things is causing a horrible rash on my body
1) perfumed soap
2) herbs
when i make stir fries i love to lash about 8 different types of herbs from Basil to Rosemary into it (others being ginger/oregano/chili pepper etc)
Is there any link between spices & eczema/rashes?

when in doubt: ASK YOUR DOCTOR!!!
Unlikely, unless you have a very strange and weak immune system. Some herbs in HUGE quantities can make you sick, but you're more likely to vomit/go into seizures from that before you get a rash.
Synthetic perfumes and dyes routinely trigger allergic reactions in sensitive people. However, some people have no obvious trigger. My ex, for example, would break out in SCARY hives every so often, and all the possible triggers were really strange, unrelated things like sticky toffee pudding, tootsie rolls, new cigarettes, etc.
It's most likely the soap. Use a soap without fragrance (or one that only uses essential oil) and see if it helps you out. You can read more about soap and dermatitis here: http://ezinearticles.com/?What-Soap-is-G…
Additionally, it could be your laundry soap that causes skin irritation as well, so you might want to consider switching to a natural brand. More importantly, ask your dermatologist what he/she recommend.
yes, certain spices can affect your skin,
because they have 'agravating' properties in them
liek the spices in spicy food, they speed up your metabolisim, which is why you may sweat when you eat them, they do that cos your body doesnt actually 'like' them,
most shouldnt afecty you, tho we are all different so maybe if you have certain sensitivites herbs that normally are ok for peopel may not be necesarily ok for you
but generally its usually the spicy ones that are used to make currys and other spicy or hot foods
even cinamon , seems harmless, but it can cause certain reactions in people too
there are lots of herb info sites on the net, have a look through for ones you use or think you may use, or react to, and take a note of what is said about them, then monitor your foods with them
maybe a food sensitivity test would do you well ;-)
Yes, some people are sensitve/or allergic to them. Since you use so many herbs, it will probably take a lot of trial and error to find out which ones are adversely affecting you, or it could be combination of certain herbs that you are fine with when used separately but when mixed together you do not tolerate well. I don't know if testing for food allergies will give you info on herbs or not or if you just have to figure it out on your own.
Best of luck!
You might be allergic to the spices.
But eczema is a skin condition so therefor it wouldn't have anything to do with the spices you use, though it could make the irritation worse, if your allergic that is.
no unless you are directly allergic too one of the ingredients then none of them will give you a rash although Chile might bother your skin if your rubbing it on yourself
