I have been thinking about semi-vegetarian?!

Question: I have been thinking about semi-vegetarian?
No meat of any sort, but ( bc my wishes may not always be catered to with my living situation ) some times products that include animal based ingredients. ( i don't know all of their names just that it would be very difficult for me to avoid them all :/ but I do know the major ones used to watch out for )

would I be then considered a semi-lacto-ovo-vegetarian with avoiding fish and meats?

You'd be considered being about 60% vegatarian in my opinion. Also check out PETA.com for more info. You're still helping save lots of animals and possibly your self! About 50% of meat eaters have a heart attck before age 50.

I'm vegan

there's no such thing. You're either vegetarian, and you eat NO MEAT, no beef tallow, no beef fat etc, or you eat those things ( the by products) and you are not a vegetarian.

Whether you eat milk, eggs, cheese from cows breasts is nothing to do with it. If you eat them, you are still a vegetarian, whatever fancy title you need to impose upon youself.

It is not hard to avoid animal products, unless your famliy only buys beef tallow soup and beef fat instant rice.
It would not be difficult at all.

If you DO eat them, you aren't vegetarian at all.

By avoiding most processed food items you can avoid most hidden animal ingredients. For instance, don't eat candy and you won't have to worry about gelatin. Eat fruit instead. Don't eat ramen, buy noodles and cook them in veggie stock.
Also, I agree that you shouldn't get too hung up on labels-your heart is in the right place and you want to do what you can.

Best advice is to research nutrition, and take over cooking, and you can cook very good, tasty, vegan meals. Govegan.com has plenty of good recipes.

Most processed foods are garbage, so don't eat them.

No such thing as a semi vegetarian. You either eat animal based products, or you don't. People who don't eat any animal based products aren't vegetarian. They are vegan.

What do u mean products that contain animal ingredients but is not meat ?? U mean beef flavored ramen noodles or soup that has chicken flavoring but no pieces of chicken? If u have at least some income then u can buy soup and other foods that have no animal ingredients and you can buy shampoo/makeup that does not contain animal ingredients or do animal testing.

Ahh, you should just drop the labels and do what you feel is right. I think that your idea is very practical, and definitely a step in the right direction. But why the need to define yourself with a label?

I also like to eat vegetables. I like to eat a variety of vegetables. In one meal, I can not eat meat, but could not do without vegetables.
