I want to eat healthier (U.K...not that it matters)?!

Question: I want to eat healthier (U.K...not that it matters)?
I was woundering the best whole grain foods that are easy to buy in the supermarket, as well as milks fruits, vitamins etc.

Basicaly the healthy option of foods without spending an arm and a leg. So looking for wholegrain, best type of fish, fruit, aswell as yogurts deserts etc.

or any great vegan/vegitarian easy cooking meals.

Answers:

Lentils, beans, nuts and seeds are cheap healthy foods. I make lentil shepherds pie replacing the meat with lentils. Beans and pulses can be used in soups, stews and curries. There are loads of tasty cheap recepes on the vegetarian web site and advice on nutrition. Also if you are eating fish then you are not vegetarian.

hmm :)
For breakfast you could eat that dorset cereale that has dried fruit and whole grain flakes ( it's really nice and a good price) for lunch you could have brown bread or best of both with a heathy stuff in side or pasta or cuscus they are good for you and don't have much fat. for tea you could have vegitarian food, look in your super market. if you really want to go heathy go for soya milk or 5% fat milk. if you want to loose a bit of weight go for a morning jog.just eat light food and not any other food in bettween.
hope that helps a bit :) x

My thoughts

wholegrain- brown rice
fish--salmon (can be canned)
fruit- any: in season will be cheaper
Yogurt-plain in the large containers
Dessert- fruit again, or perhaps a cookie

Easy, cheap meal- chop an onion, add a 1/2 bag of frozen veggies and cooked brown rice, season w. salt and pepper

always shopping for food

Shreaded wheat cereal for breakfast and canned tuna for lunch. These 2 meals are not only healthy there inexpensive.
