What is a “dietary fiber”? What does it do for the body? In what foods do you find fiber? Is fiber a nutrient?!
Why?

'Fiber' is basically cellulose and other stuff found in plant foods that we cannot digest. Therefore it is found in pretty much all whole plant foods, notably whole grains, fruits, and vegetables. I wouldn't say that fiber is a nutrient, as it is not absorbed/used in the body like proteins/carbohydrates/lipids, etc.
For the effects of fiber in the body, check the wiki page out: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dietary_fib…
There is a nice chart showing the effects for both soluble and insoluble fibers.
